Welcome to the Scrolls of Lore

Welcome to Scrolls of Lore. This site will soon feature a massive library of WarCraft lore. While we are still working to get the site ready, both the Gallery and Forums can be accessed from the bookmarks in the upper-right corner. In the coming months look for more content relating to the History of Azeroth, Legendary Heroes and Villians, and much more.

Your lore is in good hands
Posted by: [Omacron] on Apr 06, 2012 @ 07:00:30 PM CDT

Just a few minutes ago, I received a call from Blizzard Entertainment formally offering me the position of Publishing Assistant Intern as part of their Creative Development team, working under Mr. Micky Neilson. I'd like to thank everyone in the lore community for making this possible for me, and you have my most heartfelt assurance that I will try my hardest to communicate your concerns to the team.

Unfortunately, accepting this position means that I will have to step down as an administrator of Scrolls of Lore for the duration of the internship and quite possibly some time afterwards, and will probably be barred from posting during that time period.

Next stop: Irvine!

April Fools: Mists of the Wetlands
Posted by: [Timolas] on Apr 01, 2012 @ 01:03:46 PM CDT

Rhonin's adventures climax in the latest World of Warcraft spin-off. Now YOU get to decide how Rhonin became the leader of the Kirin Tor, using Blizzard's revolutionary new Alignment system. Will Rhonin replace Ansirem Runeweaver as a Renegade or as a Paragon?

- How will you navigate the raptor infested Wetlands? Will it be through Force, Romance, or by Being Nice?

- The Warcraft RPG is now canon. Rhonin can open his own Zoo in the Violet Citadel, and train an army of wildlife critters based on combinations of your choice. Fill the Zoo with Azeroth's fearsome beasts; from leprechauns to Easter Bunnies.

- Blizzard's first openly homosexual character, Queen Bolvishka, a half-Draenei half-Night Elf Quarter-Gnoll and a member of the New Council of Tirisfal, available as a companion.

- Time travel provides you with a stunning palette of options. Does Vareesa want a divorce? Wish you had married one of the other Windrunner sisters? Or a raptor? Undo your relationship errors with the help of the Bronze Dragonflight.

- Collect gems and Achievement points and beat the game all 507 ways to receive a preview of the upcoming novel, Yesterday of the Dragon, a collaboration between William C. Dietz and Richard Knaak - starring Krasus and Rhonin in their quest to become the most famous heroes and saviours of PANDARIA.

- Stay tuned for the new DLC, Dragon Origins: Age of Love.

More Mists of Pandaria Screenshots
Posted by: [Warlock] on Mar 30, 2012 @ 12:03:13 AM CDT

With the new patch, the starting areas of Pandaria are now open in the beta! I've uploaded several new screenshots of the Jade Forest (Alliance quests) as well as the new Pet Battle interface (which is still somewhat a WIP but looks pretty cool). Those screenshots start right here.

Update: I added a few more showing the Pandaren joining the Alliance (including finally the "Pick a side" screen which I actually had to pull up FRAPs to take... WoW won't capture it for some ungodly reason). There's a great little scene where you get to punch Varian in the face. It's worth checking out ;) New pictures start here.

Update 2: More shots of the Jade Forest, starting here. Enjoy!

Update 3: The final batch of Jade Forest screenshots are up, starting here. This covers everything up to the end of the zone. And of course, all the other zones are closed right now in beta :(

Update 4: Ok, one more :) Blizzard added the Dungeon Journal back in this patch (after it was broken last patch) so I took some shots, starting here. Took pictures of everything from Mists, and then went into the other expansions and took pictures of anything that had funny placeholder text ;) Most items however just had "NYI" so I didn't take shots of those (I think we all know what the old dungeons are about). This one may be my favorite.

MoP Beta Has Begun + Gallery Updates
Posted by: [Warlock] on Mar 22, 2012 @ 06:03:48 PM CDT

The Mists of Pandaria beta has officially begun!

In support, I've actually updated our MoP Gallery (*gasp*) with all the screenshots and art from the press event earlier in the week.

I've also uploaded a few beta screenshots of my own. Not much here now since apparently the high level zones are not yet accessable. But I took some shots of a few of the new interface elements I noticed. I'll add more of the starting area later, and obviously even more in the future. Enjoy.

Update: There are now a handful of screenshots from the Pandaren starting area up. Be sure to check out some of the Pandaren emotes! (no /dance yet) /kiss and /sleep are absolutely priceless.

Update #2: Screenshots of the new Scholomance and Scarlet Monastery are up starting here! Both dungeons are still rather buggy (more than once I got trapped behind closing doors, including once where I wasn't supposed to), but the changes seem pretty cool from what I could tell. Scarlet Monastery in particular does a good job of consolidating two dungeons into one, finally forcing people to actually go to the Graveyard when it's not Hallow's End :P

Mists of Pandaria beta coming soon sans NDA
Posted by: [Omacron] on Mar 21, 2012 @ 12:12:39 AM CDT

Blizzard announced that after a very short alpha test they are looking to start up the beta very soon. What's more important is that this beta test will have no NDA attached, so feel free to discuss the content of the upcoming expansion to your heart's content.

As you may have noticed, the site was down for the last couple days. It should be back now. I'm still trying to get everything back to normal, but let me know if you find anything missing or screwy.

Do Not Pass Go. Do Not Collect 200g
Posted by: [Warlock] on Feb 10, 2012 @ 10:43:27 PM CST

At this year's annual Toy Fair in NYC, Blizzard is set to unveal two new Blizzard-themed board games. The first being "Monopoly: World of Warcraft":

Locations will be represented by familiar WarCraft locals, and I'm sure there will be plenty of interesting themed Chance and "Treasure" Chest cards as well. Blizzard is currently holding a contest on their Facebook page to vote for which six of the ten possible pieces will be used for the final version. The game will be in stores this May for $39.95.

The other reveal is "RISK: StarCraft":

Not as many details here, other than the fact that all three factions are playable along with six heroes (and hopefully with little plastic marines, zealots and zerglings) :) The game will come out sometime this summer for $49.45.
