Blizzard has updated with information on a new Burning Crusade battleground, Eye of the Storm. Basically it's Arathi Basin combined with Warsong Gulch, but with tower capturing similar to EPL World PvP. Not super original, but it does look neat. Be sure to check it out.

And by not super original I mean "yawn" :P I don't know, this doesn't seem any different from what's already there. Also wierd that it's 61-70 *only*.. I guess like AV. I dunno, guess I'll have to try it.
P.S. - if the page doesn't work for you, try Firefox. Blizzard has gay XML errors that IE catches and refuses to display.

Not certain why it's 61-70, I would guess b/c the reward folks are in Outland (uncertain on this, and if there is any reward folks...). Anyway, for more details on it, check out a video put together by one of my beta guildmates, Alcaras: http://subcreation.net/2006/11/04/subcreation-pvp-highlight-reel-1-eye-of-the-storm/
PS: For you mages, yes that is the same Alcaras who put together the mage talent guides.

Haha, it dosent even have a real instance portal. I hate how blizz makes room in the world were the instances would be, but not for the battlegrounds.

Sounds like a slighty more complex Warsong Gulch, it´s like they just mixed crap they already did.
Nothing special, in my opinion.

Honestly, it's more of a mix of Arathi Basin and WSG. The flag can be completely ignored, and you can still win, but strategic use of the flag can allow someone to come from behind and get the win. There are 4 towers, so if you are able to take two tower, hold them and hold the flag to the end and turn in it at the last moment you can win. On the other hand, you can go for controlling two towers and trying to disrupt your enemies towers either just to slow them down, or control them for small periods of time to bump up your score. There are lots of ways you can win, and I'd say it has the potential to be one of the more flexible BGs yet, in terms of how to win.

That sounds like what Arathi could use. Right now it's like, if you are behind but then at some point later you get ahead you still can't win. I really hate that.

There's no storyline behind this place either...
I guess it has something to do with the conflict between the Blood Elves and Draenei of Tempest Keep or something...

Well doesn't mean they won't inject a storyline in at some point before the expansion is released; maybe it will be part of some quests or something. They haven't shown any rewards either - does that mean there isn't any? :P
Could be its 61 - 70 because its on the Outlands and in the Netherstorm region *shrug* Not sure.

I want another Warcraft III battleground like AV is.

I second that! It would also be nice if it was available to lower levels too.
it's probably 61-70 for a couple obvious reasons:
one, it's in the area avaliable to people with the expansion only.
two, it's in the area where people will be 61-70 anyway.
three, it probably will permit flying mounts which can only be acquired beyond level 60.
does it need to make sense at this point? hell we have odd racial combinations. i still think blizzard fucked their lore with the initial night elves as alliance, forsaken as horde nonsense. so who cares at this point? i'm sure it will be fun, it will get you tokens, you'll get your pvp gear rewards, yadda yadda.
sure, i'd love another AV, but play AV now. that thing lasts thirty minutes in my battlegroup. when it initially came out it could last all weekend with no win. who cares about a AV like battleground that is actually just a race? if we are gonna' see some wow maps, let's actually build the fortress, then move out and take out the opponents! yeah, someone cut some trees, someone work the mine, use those to build the town hall or orc barracks. wait, this isn't warcraft anymore, it's wow. and wow is an entirely other beast.

Yeah, although the battleground isn't really in any area at all. There's no actual physical entrance to it anywhere. You can just access it from the battlemasters in all of the major cities. People will go there from Orgrimmar, Stormwind, etc.
I don't see why they shouldn't make the BG available to people (who own the expansion) under level 60.

Nope, Blizzard has said on the official forums that flying mounts (and druid's flying form) won't be allowed in the Eye of the Storm battleground.

WSG is kinda like that, although there is no town or anything =)

I think what Kenzuki means, or at least what I mean is we want a BG that is more like a real battle. Where there are grunts and footmen NPCs that you have to fight and some kind of leader to kill in order to be victorios.

No Azharas Crater? Bunk, I want that one in game alreadyBecause you know it's coming eventually, I would expect Azsharas Crater to tie into an expansion that has to do with the seas, either via the islands in the south, and maybe the waters underneath the Maelstrom.

Speaking of which, which factions do you think would be in the Aszara Crater? I'm gonna say Night Elves and Tauren. :P

What reason would they have to fight each other, though?
I think Night Elves vs Orcs makes the most sense (although it's already been done in Warsong Gulch), considering geographic proximity
Or better yet, Night Elves and Blood Elves.

I'm guessing it would be night and blood elves considering it's in Azshara.
