This is just hilarious. As the title says, it's an unlicensed knock-off theme park. It's really, really blatent.

Some pictures (way more at the link):

See, the thing is? I'd really, really wish if something like this was in the US. Blizz had a contest for fans to design a themepark for them, part of me hopes that there was something brewing in their minds about something like that at some point.

This was mentioned by handclaw in The Spam Thread Reborn (http://www.scrollsoflore.com/forums/showthread.php?p=313312#post313312). His link was this (http://kotaku.com/5822479/well-the-world-of-warcraftstarcraft-theme-park-actually-opened/gallery/1).

This.

The worst is no one will move a finger against it, cause everyone is a pathetic sucker with China, and will do whatever is needed to stay in their market, while the rest of the world doesn't get the same treatment.

Wonder where's that "we can't let fans use our franchise on some ways because they drop their quality" argument now.

God you're dense.

It has nothing to do with people being afraid of China, it has everything to do with the fact that copyright law as we know it barely exists in China. Why do you think so many bootlegged toys and the like come from over there? It's the same principle, just on a larger scale.

On China, you make trouble and they kick you out. You have to stick with their rules, and their rules say copyright doesn't exist. China; the government of China, to be exact; is very interested on this park (try reading any of the info on it). They wouldn't be happy with Blizzard or anyone else making trouble.

In my country, at least, they destroy plagiarized products and sue those who sell them.

You can't sue someone who's not breaking any laws. In China, this park isn't illegal.

Shamelessly infringing, but damn it, seeing actual structures based on WoW architecture is fucking awesome. Love the wyvern roost.

I love China! :D

But yeah, it would be awesome if Blizzard made a REAL theme park in EUROPE! (screw you USians ;P)

Blizzard would probably build it's first park in SoCal if they ever did do it. I don't know much about European vacation hotspots so I ask, where would be a good place to build one over there?

Greece.

With the current economy, I say we buy Athens and build Darnassus ontop of Acropolis.

Mostly Meditarranean countries, Spain, Italy, Greece, south of France, Turkey, Egypt,... are very popular destinations in the summer.

SPAIN! I WANT IT HERE DAMMIT!

As I see it, it's Spain or France. Turkey and Egypt are a no for obvious reasons, and Italy and Greece have simply less tourism (last time I checked top 1 was France and top 2 was Spain, regarding tourism).

Are places like France (outside of Paris) and Spain larger international tourist draws than places like California, though? Would Americans and Asians flock to, say, Nice for their starcraft fix? Actually, come to think of it, Blizz would probably make a killing opening up a theme park like this in Korea.

No idea, I read it on a report about tourism. I'm not sure, but I think Italy was the top three. USA may have been 4th. I don't really remember, lol.

The disadvantage of Korea is that it isn't "sunny" enough. Water attractions are important, and they should work for as most time as possible each year. In that sense, if they open a theme park in Asia, they would probably locate it souther, to wherever Asian people goes on vacation.

Definatly, though most people go there for the sun and beaches rather than amusement parks.

Maybe it's an american thing, but if I was going to the european Disneyland, I would not be going there for bathing and enjoying the sun. But I also prefer to travel to places with some more history, I love all the greek and roman ruins found in Italy, Greece, Turkey etc.

Also when americans go on holiday, don't you usually just go to some state instead of a new country?
Of course, its hard to compare North America to Europe since there are so many more countries and variety in Europe.

Since Paris is so close to Sweden, we would probably just have been there over a weekend and not like 2 weeks (its very normal for people to go on holidays in countries such as Turkey, Egypt, Spain (Mallorca...)) and Thailand for 2 weeks, Thailand is super popular)

For Swedes, there is no problems for us to travel to countries such as North Korea so I would love to that some day. It is supposed to be a truly fascinating and unique country.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the French HATE Euro Disneyland? I'm not sure if they'd be any more receptive to a Blizz-land. If they were to make a real Blizzard themepark, it'd either be in SoCal, which is already a vaction destination in addition to being the location of their headquarters, or in Asia (probably Korea), where they have an immense level of popularity. Seriously, imagine if Blizz opened a WC or SC themepark in South Korea. They would probably hold huge Starcraft tournaments there, that'd draw enough Koreans to pay for the park's operation for the entire year.

Parks aren't created to attract people to a zone, they're created on zones people are attracted to. In Spain, except a Dinosaur park near a series of digsites and Warner Bros at Madrid, all of them are near summer vacation spots. With no exception. A good amount of them are pure water parks, too.

Theme parks are only placed on popular spots. Now matter how good it sounds, I don't really see one at South Korea work (unless it's placed in some place Koreans visit a lot or something). Depends a lot on how Korean tourism works, but in general, you need more than the local country to maintain them.

I could see it work like a normal park, though (pay for each attraction and not for entrance to the park).

Not really, it's even Europe's most famous amusement park.

Well yeah, it's got Disney behind it. But I heard when it opened the French really didn't like the idea of a monolithic American company opening up a park there. It's my favorite of the three Disney parks I've been to, though, I love their rendition of Tomorrowland compared to the American ones.

They used to hate it but the times i have been there i have never recalled any of the French to dislike it really since it probably generates a hell of a lot of tourism and jobs. Maybe they simply grew fond of it but i really wouldn't know lol.
