Read the last paragraph carefully.

They avoided to talk about D3 being a trilogy all this time, it seems. I always supported the "theory" that they didn't say it during its BlizzCon because SC2 got such a negative reaction on being another trilogy.
Seems I could be right :P.
Still, don't like the trilogy model, as I didn't like it in SC2.

Didn't the leaked product slate reveal that D3 was going to have two expansions? As long as they add meaningful content (at least two new classes per xpac, IMO) I see no problem with it.

D3.1: Deal with Diablo & Lesser evils
D3.2: Deal with Imperius
D3.3: Deal with return of Inarius and Lilith, turns out that Tyrael was evil because of the Worldstone and was the vessel for the real Diablo. Final act based on Nine Circles of Hell from Inferno from the Divine Comedy, each "circle" holding a boss. Diablo's final form looks like a cross between Diablo and the Prime Evils modded to look a bit like how Lucifer is presented in Inferno
Sums it up perfectly
Creating a trilogy =/= cash cow IMO, it just means they can cover more ground and tell more stories.
Future classes could be return of a D2 class and three new ones, two per xpack.

I have a feeling they'll only bring out one new class per expansion. I'd love to see 2 per, because of the way they're designing this game to be so modular and PVE focused (meaning balance isn't as big of an issue), but I somewhat doubt we'd get that.

I'd like to see more than one act introduced with expansions. In Lord of Destruction they just added the one, and while it was cool I really wanted more :(
I'm all for a D3 trilogy though, the more D3 the better. It's easy to make the cash cow assumption, but just because it's easy doesn't mean it's correct :P

Besides, who knows, they may give away the expansions for free like they did with the actual base game to keep people subbed to WoW until Titan comes out.

I still think Titan is a shooter, and not designed to replace WoW.

That said, I think even Blizz knows WoW's numbers will keep shrinking and they're basically bleeding revenue until Titan comes out and gives them another subscription. Locking players into the yearly contracts is essentially applying a tourniquet to the bleeding wound that is WoW's subscribers.

I hope Titan isn't a shooter, at least not purely. I'm not a fan of the style and I don't think the MMO setting would help with that.
I do hope its something futuristic, though. Cyberpunk something. If Diablo is to Warcraft than Titan is to Starcraft, or something. You get the gist.

I'm just not convinced they are creating it as a replacement for WoW. Mostly because there is 0 information about it, we're not even sure if it will be called Titan :P

Titan is the project name. It probably won't be the final one, though it certainly sounds cool enough to work as it.

Is Chris Metzen the lead creative dev behind it? Do we know that?

Locked in a small room with a huge demon knocking you back whilst slowing you? Not one of my most pleasant experiences.
