I like the forest with the weird looking trees and crystals, but the "Nagrund" place looks a little too real, too similar to Kalimdor. It loses the cool cosmic feel Outland has, like mushrooms instead of trees, weird-looking creatures and demons, and outlandish (:p) areas.

hmm.. remember when Thrall met Cairne in the RoC campaign? In a short cutscene they were standing next to an oasis and Thrall said that this beautiful place remindes him of his homeland, Draenor. Technically it's impossible becuse he was only a baby when he was captured on Azeroth, but maybe he was referring to this area?

Draenor was just like any other world to start with. It was only twisted after the point that Ner'Zhul started to open all of those portals. There will probaly be a lot of zone like that on Draenor. At least I hope so.

I thought so before as well, but in Beyond the Dark Portal the land on Draenor still seemed brownish-reddish and there were mushrooms instead of trees. Now that I look at the screen again it doesn't look that bad though, I first thought it was more desertish. It was around midnight after another tiring day at school when I saw it in the first place:D

From the best that I can tell, and remember (im getting old) Dreanor was a lot like the Barrens today. MINUS THE THORNS WOOT! Remember the Orcs were just shamans and hunters prior to the BL, and I doubt they were hunting nether dragons and demons.

Actually, Gul'dan and his warlocks corrupted the world with their magics. Ner'zhul only blew up the planet with his multiple rifts. Once the Rift to Azeroth was opened the Warlocks' corrupion seeped out into the Black Morass, to create the Blasted Lands.

I understand that, I think I just worded my post wrong. I always have a hard time getting to the point. I was trying to state that Dreanor was much like Azeroth Sans Shadow magic.

Yep, it was as green as Azeroth before Gul´dan.

I guess that makes sense - Gul'Dan was pretty original when corrupting the place though - the last thing I could imagine tainted trees to look like is huge mushrooms :D. I think though that the explosion of Draenor also had an effect on the landscape, directly affecting it with the energies of the Twisting Nether and stuff. Also, according to the unapproved statement by Cay that Draenei were unmutated at some point, the Draenei became corrupted after the sundering of Draenor, warped by the taint that fell upon their land. These two can't go together, because if Gul'Dan corrupted the land before, then so the Draenei would get corrupted along with that. This means:
1- Cay is wrong, Draenei were always ugly, now either of the "corruption theories" can be wrong, right or both be correct.
2- Cay is right (!!!O_o!!!)... Draenei were indeed hot some time ago. Now only one of the theories can work at a time

This thing is really messy... I'd say number one is the more possible, with both Gul'Dan and the explosion of Draenor doing some corruption... Though I hope 2 is correct...

Is there any sources denying her (Cay) statement? If so, I'm gonna do something evil. She made me write all this

Okay, we can flat out debunk Cay's statement via the fact that some (if not all) of the Dreanei on Azeroth arrived prior to the closing of the Dark Portal in BtDP, yet you will never see a pretty Dreanei. Now, it's possible that they were twisted prior to the events of destruction of Dreanor, such as some horrible curse brought down on them by Gul'Dan...

What I thought is that the Draenei weren't mutated by any curse or energy physically acting on their bodies, but because of the corruption of the land itself. In other words, If Draenor is corrupted, they are corrupted. This is because of their spiritual connection with Draenor, and that is why they go mad from homesickness and can be healed back to sanity when in contact with a piece of Draenor.

That when coupled with the Draenei Rocks thing actually makes the most sense of anything I've heard yet.

I concur with Warlock's sentiment. Bravo. I bow to your greater logic.

Wouldn't it be cool if Maiev Shadowsong became a greater Spirit of Vengeance? She is a good candidate. She suits all MoM's (lol) criteria of becoming one, she died bearing hatred and will of vengeance upon her sworn enemies, in fact these were the only emotions she felt when fihgting Illidan in Outland. She felt betrayed by her own kin too so that makes her anger and hatred even more powerful. One could say she was an avatar of vengeance even before her death. It would make sense if she rose up as one, her watchers becoming her minions. An outdoor raid boss in Terokkar forest;)?
