Hi everyone, long time first time.

I found some very interesting information and would like some input.

With Blizzard trademarking Cataclysm I found a reference to it in Silithus. Geologist Larksbane states ""It is history ... A history of Silithus ... of Ahn'Qiraj ... of Titans and Old Gods ... I read from the prophecy of C'Thun as written by the Qiraji Prophet Skeram. A prophecy that portends a cataclysm ... "

You may say that pertains to the opening of the Gates in patch 1.9 but from the comics (and yes I know anything not in game isn't even close to lore but I'll try anyway) we see that Cho'Gall tried to resurrect C'Thun.

Do any of you think we might see something with C'Thun in the next expansion?

If we do, I hope it's with the rest of his cronies. I'm tired of this one-Old-God-at-a-time crap...I'd like to see a full-up reawakening of the Old Gods.

I always thought it'd be cool if the mortal races of Azeroth were enslaved for the duration of an expansion and the focus was on fighting a guerilla war against the bad guys. Let the Alliance and Horde actually cooperate in the resistance and then when the oppressors (in this case the Old Gods) were overthrown, they'd go back to their fighting.

My problem with the story is that every event seems to be so inconsequential to Azeroth. Those stupid kids in Stormwind are still chasing each other around while there's zombies roaming the streets.

Sorry to get off on a tangent. In answer to your question, I doubt we'll see C'Thun again until the Old Gods are all awake and ready to sow some real chaos.

First of all, comic is as canonical as, say, WC3. This is one of the universes where Expanded Universe is as important as the primary source.

And I doubt we we'll see C'Thun in WoW. Blizz' doesn't like to recycle bosses too much. Certainly not C'Thun.

Kael'Thas, Anub'Arak, Hakkar, etc... They will recycle bosses as they feel the story permits, and with the comic C'Thun is coming back into the spotlight that he faded out of since AQ became nothing but a retro raid.

C'Thun can definitely come back, but we will not see him as the C'Thun we killed. More then anything I see a very heavy possibility that by the end of this arc Cho'Gal will be completely warped by C'Thun, becoming his new avatar. This means C'Thun, rather then being a massive splurge of random, has a more basic, and much more mobile, form that would allow him to appear somewhere outside AQ.

Of course C'thun will come back. Why otherwise would he appear in the comic so much? If you have not yet seen it, the comic builds up content and plots for WoW.

Just look at Broll, for instance. Im not saying that the next expansion 99.99% is the Emerald Dream but that Broll is suddenly called into the Emerald Dream and that Magni has some relation to the Nightmare points somewhere in-game ;)
Now, that makes no sense, what I wrote xD

Interesting idea with the avatar thing. =O

I remember someone did facepalm when I asked if the "spirit versions" of the Old Gods uses "hosts". Apparently, that is a completly valid idea now :P

No offense, but please give us the thread where you mentioned it and our rebuttal was /facepalm. At this point it's hard to believe you considering you claimed to be the origination of the neutral race idea.

Eh Rob you should be way more speficic on your posts. Talking about Old Gods taking hosts and Cho'gall becoming the ultimate host/vessal/object for C'thun is pretty different unless you actually speficied it in your other post but just *didn't* bother to say it here.

Tho at first i thought "Would Cho'gall allow himself to become a host?" but then again this guy just _wants_ the world(s)'s destruction so i'm sure he wouldn't mind it. =p

Is C'thuns spirit manifesting him or just empowerng him?
I want to know because it would be interesting to have it confirmed that the Old Gods spirit could take control over another body.
It fits my... expansion idea with Ysera.

Here, I was referring to Cho'gall. Then I got flamed and facepalm. And apparently, its a completly valid idea now.

The Avatar thing can be nasty. A portion of Yogg-Saron (his essence?) was captured in Ulduar, even though parts of him were all over Northrend. Now suppose we killed him and his spirit is now free. Suppose we kill Arthas in 3.3 as well. What happens if both gods of death merge and become one, settling in a new host (I kinda like the idea of Sindragosa being possessed by them, adding blue flight's aspect thing to it as well)? Can you say "ouch time"?

Of course, this is complete fan fiction, but I like where these things can bring us. Hell, given the magnitude of such an abomination, we'd probably be forced to rescue other old gods just to stop it :D It'll never happen, but that would be one hell of a twist.

@Rob: No wonder your post gets flamed when you keep throwing ideas such as Ysera. A Willing host compared to unwilling is two different things.

So it seems that C'Thun will come back, does that mean we'll see Fandral Staghelm back in the picture?

By the way did we ever find out what was going on with him and the Morrowgrain?

Just that a faction of the Night Elves (more than likely Tyrande's, given her right-hand sentinel general Shandris is listed as part of the group) is 'concerned' about his research into it. Nothing else.

Never finished the Tauren version, so I dunno there.
