Draenei? Eredar? Oh my head.

Just updating everyone on new information.

It seems we might have jumped the gun, thanks to the looks of the new race being so much like the Eredar. The NYT just posted an articale confirming that the new race is actually the Draenei.

I must say, its rather confusing, I knew that uncorrupted Draenei looked humanish, but not eredarish. Maybe they ARE corrupted, and the reason they have such a eredarish look is because the demonic magic itself gave them similar features?

How the hell... So basically a group of Eredar escape to Draenor and became the Draenei? Well that would explain why Kil'jaeden had Gul'dan slaughter them all.

It has a very cool evolution chart that shows the original Eredar-descendant Draenei, the Broken and a Lost One. Also, among those pictures, there's one done by Samwise that I think may be the Draenei's racial crest.

And it has a screenshot of the Dark Portal from Outland's side and it's totally different and cooler :D

I also became confused when Jeff Kaplan told the interviewer that Draenei were followers of the Light. I hope they do have a very good explanation for that...

It's probably a derivative concept that is very similar in nature. Like how the Light and Elune are both divine magic. Whatever Draenei believe is probably similar, or maybe even from the same power source as the Light.

Why the hell does "Draenei" female look like Night Elves?
Also, picture 13. Thats another Dark Portal! But it dont have any teleport.
It is just like a big space in the middle.

Also, the Reason I am buying The Burning Crusade isnt the races, it is Outlands, Zul'Aman, Kharazan.... All those cool places! I am gonna continue on my Orc, not reroll any "Draenei" or Blood Elf.

Yeah it's kinda confusing... They'd probably release it with the BE's announcement if they had it done. The BE's in the BC townhall have the birdie behind them too. I guess.. I don't know. It would be kinda random if they just put the crest next to the golem model...

that it was, we were all right, kind of (I actually called it months ago and said uncorrupted draenai would be the new race). In anycase, Metzen is good at messing with people, true genius, though guided by commercialism, is still striking genius

It doesn't make sense for them to be paladins still. You HAVE to be a Follower of the Holy Light to be a Knight of the Silver Hand. Otherwise, you're just a warrior priest.

Kenzuki is right, a priest and a paladin are completely diffrent thing, there couldnt be a "paladin of elune"

actualy, the lore on tBC site says that a powerfull ethereal race tought them the ways of the holy light, so apparently its not an idea isolated to Azeroth. this may also explain why the alliance lets them in.

Supposedly the Naru taught them the light. But when were they on Azeroth to teach humans? Who knows? :raisedbro
