Maybe these will trigger some nostalgia by someone capable of World Edit magic that can make some really good lore-based mods.

The Lich King (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/lich-king-154837)/Arthas (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/arthas-155676)
In case you forgot, Undead Arthas was on horse not foot and looked like this (http://www.monky.ro/wp-content/gallery/dday/Damned_Arthas_DeathKnight_1.jpg).

Python Warrioress (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/python-warrioress_fk-137558)
Totally unique animations and a neato crawling animation that I really could never think of any possible way to implement into a Warcraft 3 game.

Prime Matron (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/prime-matron-125142)
Jiggling boobies animated like a pro.

Deadeye (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/deadeye-113615)
Another model with unique animations.

Illidan (Burning Crusade version) (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/skins-552/illidan-blp-66879)
Compare Old (http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/7906/illidanold.jpg)|New (http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/2117/illidannew.jpg)

Kilrogg Deadeye (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/kilroggdeadeye-120245)

Frostwolf Grunt (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/frost-wolf-grunt-147546)
There are actually grunt models on that site for all the clans but this one was my favorite

Cho'gall (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/corrupted-chogall-144202)
I thought this was really out of place because I've not seen a model for anyone else in the comics.

Blackhand the Destroyer (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/blackhand-destroyer-147545)

Zul'jin (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/zuljin-93083)

Orc Warlock (based on Samwise art) (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/orcwarlock-47960)

Gnome - Skinned from VillagerKid! (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/skins-552/gnomeengineer_by67chrome-blp-132873)
There are some actual Gnome models, but they look very strange to me.

Draenei (WoW) Paladin (http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=90568)
There are several WoW-Draenei models out there simply because they can use the Eredar Warlock or Archimonde models as a base.

Troll Headshrinker (http://www.wc3c.net/showthread.php?t=105240)
This is my favorite model.

I still think someone should make an icon or model for that intermediate Arthas. He is still human, but really, really mad.

A loooong time ago I reskinned the NE Assassin (aka the Warden, but not the *hero* Warden from Frozen Throne) into Garona (based on the PCXL magazine cover (http://www.scrollsoflore.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-200)). It was pretty awesome. I'll have to see if I can find a picture later.

This is the model you're talking about, right? You sent me a copy a long time ago and I managed to dig it up again.

That would be it :)

Edit: If anyone would like it, I've uploaded it:

I can find some really good mods, but the only ones that actually follow the lore are awful and full of terrible spelling mistakes. There are a few based on the books that are not bad.

Yeah, one guy in particular made some that were great, about the 2 first books.

You can find the DotD one here: http://warcraft3.filefront.com/file/Day_of_the_Dragon;73145

I don't find LotC's link anywhere, but it was from the same author.

Also, give "The Last Druid" and "The Lion of Azeroth" a try, too. They're pretty good: http://fallofthelion.tripod.com/

That would be it :)

Edit: If anyone would like it, I've uploaded it:

It's very nice, indeed. You should upload it at hiveworkshop :).

I loved the clan grunts especially the Shattered hand grunt. I hope Warcraft 4 has distinctions between clans and nations like this.

Dig the headshrinker and Zul'jin too.

Last Druid was really good, Lion of Azeroth was not bad, but I couldn't find the fourth key with Garona in the final mission :(

I played the Day of the Dragon campaign and Lord of the Clans, they were both pretty well done. There is also a campaign based on The Last Guardian by the same person. http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/members/outsiderxe/#userresources

Jungle troll Skullsplinter. (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models-530/jungle-troll-skullsplinter-47897)

Speaking of custom models, has the troll wars campaign made any progress?

Those Old Horde models remind me of that WC1 WC3 mod, Dawn of Chaos I think? Anyone know if that's still alive?

Here (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/members/outsiderxe/#userresources) are some campaigns based on the novels Day of the Dragon, Lord of the Clans, and The Last Guardian.

Here (http://fallofthelion.tripod.com/) you can find "The Last Druid" which uses an original story about a High Elf that takes up Druidism but follows closely to the events of Warcraft 3. Also "Fall of the Lion" closely follows lore and centers around Lothar.

I did find a quite literal remake of Warcraft 1 (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/members/lordperenoldeii/#userresources) on THW. Everything down to the terrain is identical (other than the improved graphics), you can even only select 4 units at a time. :disgust:

Nice. Mind linking the site where I can catch up on it? Can't find it on Google.

Well, the best I can suggest is to check their forum on samods: http://forum.samods.org/index.php?board=28.0

I was never a huge fan of the art in that one. It seemed like it was trying *too* hard to imitate the style of WarCraft 1, forgetting that WarCraft 1 looked like ass :P
