I like the game, I just don't like what they've done with the lore. There's way to much focus on getting good items for me, but then again I guess thats how MMO's are, and I can't really complain about that. So long as I look at it as simpley a game, and don't worry about the lore making since I enjoy it. As for right now I've taken a break for the summer.

The lag on my server is so pathetic, coupled with bad lore, that I keep getting so frustrated. Not only that, Dishonorable Kill points are total rubbish you cant shrug off if you ever go into a raid and someone AoEs in town. Imagine you log in and immediately DC before you even move. I know its not just me, because my friend in the area gets the same problems.

Then theres that abundance of idiots that just makes me say "Thank god for single player games". Yet Im not gonna stop, and im not bitching, because that game as I said CAN BE FUN. When its not lagging and when im playing with my real life pal, because we can talk about other things while were farming or whatever.

So :P Im not a bitch. Im a guy who thinks Blizzard needs to fix their game. The End.

For me, WoW enforces the Lore. I know alot of people have a problem with fighting important characters like Kel`thazad and so forth, but I love it. Being able to be part of the action, seeing a cool bad guy in the flesh and standing toe to toe with him. I don't raid purely for the items, but also for the experience; seeing ragnaros emerge from that lava for the first time was just amazing, and I can't wait to see further villians emerge in a much more impressive way.

So for me, WoW makes it seem as if I am part of the Warcraft history, rather then just playing it. Sure, I am only one of millions of people and in the scheme of things is nothing, but from a imaginative perspective, to me my character is making a difference.

So for all those people who bitch about WoW ruining lore, to me it has made it so much better. The only lore problems I have had really is the whole Drenai/Sargares issue, but other then that I haven't seen any glaring problems. Blood Elves/ forsaken allied with the Horde? Oh Noes! I guess no one has read history books on this little war could World War 2 when the Russians allied with their arch nemesis the US.

WoW is a good game. Its solid. Yes it has its issues, some glaring and some not so much (honor system = glaring), but all around its the best there is. I've played a few MMOs myself and I say this with experience. Go try to play FFXI and have fun, it won't happen.

In any case, we will see what happens with this game, the first expansion pack is what makes the game, it shows the direction (if its stable, SWG is the exception not the rule) of developement and gives the developers a chance to redeem themselves for their original mistakes. It seems as if tBC will do this and do it well. The only problem I forsee is the typical Blizzard Time, which means we will see the second expansion someitme in 2010.

When they cancelled Starcraft Ghost I saw it as a tragic dead end to Star Craft. To be honest I doubt there will be a follow up. I even doubt they will make a Warcraft 4, (which I crave) despite my exaggerated desires for it. WoW is our lore death.

Game-wise the lag is killing me. I went to a LBRS run and I DCed 5 times in 5 minutes.

Anyway, i like and dislike WoW on several angles, i play it regularly but i always make a couple days break or i will get bored of it.
But in the end, like it or not people, WoW is the game that shows best the lore of Warcraft, i´m still amazed at the landscapes of Azeroth and i can´t wait to check out Outland.

As for lag, i recently migrated to the servers with the new hardware, the diference is so fucking huge one has to wonder why they don´t changed the whole lot.

Nothing's perfect, no one is going to get everything right in the first shot. The people that say "WoW has a good story" is saying it because either they a) haven't played WC I, II, III or TFT or b) have and got over it. I guess you could say I'm biased because WoW is the 1st MMO that I have taken seriously (6 mo. on FFXI don't count) and that I advoid RTS games like the plauge and hence forth I haven't played personally any of the previous Warcrafts. (Didn't stop me from looking over someone's shoulder as they played through them all, heh :vile: )

Eh, it's all a matter of opinion. /shrug. But lag, the D/Cs, all that, can get better but again, nothing is perfect. :)

Love it, the Lore, the Story, the Gameplay. World of Warcraft is the best MMO there is, and it has the best backstory there is, the best story too. World of Warcraft has done so much for the Warcraft Lore, enhanced it in so many ways, so what if there are retcons and stuff I don't think jives right. It is another great Blizzard game, in all regards (and it gets better with every patch). (1.11 baby, TONIGHT! Frost Mages FTW!) I expect nothing less than the best from Blizzard and that is what they have given.

My opinion is pretty plain and simple. The story has had bonuses that I like, yes of course, but there are total fuck ups to it to say the LEAST. Forsaken in the Horde? I dont buy that alliance of convenience crap. They want playable zombies so they come up with an excuse. Just like Draenei are playable demons no matter what they say, and Blood Elves dont fit in with the Horde either. Because the Horde is anti-warlock. Even according to WoW its anti-warlock. Yet there we have it.

Compared to other games of its type World of Warcraft is great; Ive played Guild Wars. Doesnt fix the problems that tick me off to my limits though.
