A few neat updates to report:

First off, the Official Rulebook has been released! You can get it in PDF or Word format. Even if you don't care about the TCG or the rules, there is a lot of cool art in the PDF version (no art in the Word version) which is worth looking at :)

Secondly, two new card updates. Yesterday was Barman Shanker (everyone's favorite broken beer bottle) and today is Fireball (not exactly the flashiest spell but check it out anyways :D)

Finally, a Post-GenCon Q&A has been posted with some questions and answers that might interest you.

I can see you really looking forward for this Warlock.

Great news, gotta see how this thing is played, i´m still rusty with magic and my brothers taught me how to play pokemon some years back but that´s it, hope it´s nothing too complex.

Never fight a Rouge deck with a Leeroy deck.

I wasn't so much at first, but yes, now I am super-psyched for this.

It's funny because I havn't played a TCG since the Star Trek one. I blew over $100 on that, only to regret it because I had no one to play the damn thing against.

But at this point, I don't care so much if I can't play this against other people. It just looks too awesome :D

Only 100? I've blown more on any individual card game then you've blown on all yours combined I bet.

Keep in mind I was about 14 at the time. That was a shitload of money for me back then (plus all the stores were clearing out the cards so I bought them at $1 per pack - so I did have quite a few)

Good news! Looks like that riding turtle model we saw earlier wasn't final. I used the modelviewer to look at the latest test build on the test realms and noticed the riding turtle model was significantly changed. For comparison:

Old turtle:

New turtle:

http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/1766/turtlenewip0.jpg

MUCH better. :)
By the way on the Upper Deck forums it was pretty much confirmed by an Upper Deck official that the turtle mount will be ridable with level 20 but will only be able to go at walking speed (making it slower than an unmounted character) - so it really is only cosmetic. Looks nice, though.
It was also confirmed that the "Heroes of Azeroth" set will only contain three different loot cards. One will give you the turtle mount, another one a non-combat pet (there was talk about a baby hippogryph) and the last one a special tabard.

While using the modelviewer I also noticed there is a new creature called "Landro" in the creature list. Looks like a normal goblin:

Strange that he appears in the normal creature list (but this may just be a modelviewer thing - don't know). What this has to do with the WoW TCG you ask? Well, look at this card here: http://wowtcgdb.com/carddetail.aspx?id=57
My guess is this Landro Longshot fellow is going to be the NPC where you can get the rewards for the loot cards from the TCG.

(Just noticed that Landro is mentioned on that card, too)

But the catch is: There exist two versions of this card in the WoW TCG. The ordinary version and a "legendary" version which isn't any different in terms of the TCG game mechanics from the normal version but does have a scratch-off code that gives you the turtle mount in game. Needless to say the legendary versions of cards will be very rare.

Yeah, I believe they said something like one legendary every 5 boxes (box = 24 packs of cards).
