I thought it was widely recognized that it was a THREE year jump from WotLK to Cataclysm with the mentions that Hyjal was a decade ago... the Battle of Mount Hyjal was in year 20, so statements that it was a decade ago would push the timeline to 30. So WoW was year 25, TBC was 26, WotLK was 27, and Cata was 30.
Well, at least that's how I (and just about all the people I know that are into the lore) react to it... and we likely will continue to do so unless Blizzard clarifies.
