Default I Spotted a Retcon!

Quote:
The misty shrouds that the last Pandaren Emperor used to protect Pandaria from the demonic jeopardy that threatened Azeroth have done a particularly good job, for no troll has been seen in Pandaria for over 10,000 years. No wonder the Zandalari seem like nothing more than freakish figures of fiction to many Pandaren.

Imagine the Pandaren's surprise when the mists collapse and Pandaria's lush forests and cloud-ringed mountains are once more threatened by the ancient Zandalari menace that they had come to see as nothing more than scary savages in some superstitious stories.

What's retconned? The meeting the troll leaders had before patch 4.1 took place on Zandalar Isle.

I AM NOW AWESOME! ZANDALARI FACT CHECKER!

Wait how does that imply a retcon exactly?

Two things...1. Wrong island. There is an island that relates to the Zandalari in MoP, but it isn't Zandalar itself. 2. Even if the former isn't true, we have no idea when the mists vanished during Cata, so there's always the chance that 4.1 could've taken place there.

The trolls apparently never visited the place in the past 10,000 years, when in fact, they just did right before patch 4.1.

I think you're making the false assumption that the island to the North of Pandaria is, in fact, Zandalar island. It's not. It's an island occupied by the Zandalari. Zandalari Island is closer to the Maelstrom and not covered by mist.

Considering the island off the coast of Pandaria is nothing like Zandalar Isle was described in the RPG or Troll Compendium (the latter of which is still canon, near as anyone can tell), I'd say you're confused.

If anything, that little spit of land is an old Mogu settlement the Zandalari took over as the mists lifted.

If that spec of land is Zandalar Isle there's going to be trouble.

Aye. There'll be pitchforks and torches aplenty if they do that.

Between Blizzard saying they wanted more Molten Front style daily quest areas, and just how involved the Zandalari appear to be be in the overall Pandaria storyline via their ties to the mogu, I'd say its likely we'll see Zandalar as a patched in daily area/dungeon/raid hub thingy.
It's not Zandalar FFS.

Technically it seems to be it.
