Die. And when I say die, I don't mean that wishy washy death in your sleep type deal. I mean dragged out of your house, meat hooks shoved through your back, attached to the back of a car, and dragged 30 miles down an asphalt road going about 20MPH. What a steel wool brush shoved in your mouth to muffle the screams.

I may be taking my anger out on the wrong sources, so I apologize in advance.

A) Watson is being re-imagined as a Woman.
B) Watson isn't a war surgeon who bunked with Holmes, but instead is a babysitter hired by Holmes father to keep him out of the bottle.
C) New fucking York.
D) His entire personality shown so far doesn't match Holmes.
E) Tattoo's. He's covered in them.
F) That burning itch of knowing that just after seeing so little, one knows that they are going to push "sexual" tension between them, and instead of being respected friends, they will instead be lovers.
G)From different trailers "I sometimes hate it when I'm right" which is not Sherlock Holmes, and "Not everything is deducible" which is again, not Sherlock Holmes.
H) heavily implied in one of the trailers that he hires hookers.
I) Complete bastardization of his character, and other lines in the trailers.

You want to make a something like this? Fine. Don't use Sherlock Holmes. Create your own character. House was heavily influenced by Sherlock Holmes, but he wasn't Sherlock Holmes. It can be done.

Sherlock, and yes. But a bigger fan of the books themselves. In fact, I just recently purchased a gold edged, very nicely bound complete series of the tales of Sherlock Holmes. The entire 60+ stories by doyle.

You’re missing the point. It’s a modern day detective show in NY (or “X” city) because that way it can be completely and utterly derivative of all the other shows like that which infest network television like a plague. It’s Sherlock Holmes because people recognize that name, and by using it, they can reuse the same formula from all the other shows, throw in a few of Holmes’ famous sayings, and lazily churn out the same unimaginative drivel. This is obviously not targeted at fans of Doyle’s stories.

If he can be a crack addict, why can't he hire the occasional hooker?

Name will kill the series. Don't call it Sherlock. Make the character a dumb sociopath that believes himself to be Sherlock or some shit, but NOT SHERLOCK DAMN YOU CBS FOR RAPING SERIES.

That show reminds me of God of War. I.e. complete rape of a classic story.

Pf. Everyone knows the only valid Sherlock Holmes is Data playing him on the Holodeck.

It's basicly a "Monk" ripoff, with the main character named Sherlock Holmes.

And yes, CBS wants to cash in on the enormous success of the BCC series. (Which is awesome.)

Oh, and to add in more rage.

I want to watch the BBC series of Sherlock Holmes because it's supposed to be really good, but recently I heard an important spoiler from one of the episodes. So everytime I think about watching it I'm reminded of the spoiler, so now I'm trying to wait until everything I know about the series has been forgotten and then try to watch it.

Good luck with that. Every time I have something major about a series spoiled by me, I go through the whole show/movie/game/book thinking 'this is great, but I wonder how it relates to THAT DAMN SPOILER.'

And that's why I love spoilers; except for Doctor Who and Sherlock, because they have key elements that affect the plot too deeply. I'd give examples, but I don't want to considering it could make the "WHAT THE FUCK DID JUST HAPPEN" be less epic for new viewers.

That actually happened to me when I saw The Dark Knight. Accidentally stumbled upon a spoiler on the Super Hero Hype comments and someone flat out said that Batman's love interest dies.

Though that didn't kill the movie for me, but it nagged at me a bit...

Because it would confuse the rednecks. "Uh... Sea-attle? Is that some kind of toy?"

Because Toronto looks more like New York or Chicago than Seattle of Phoenix.

They use Vancouver for Seattle though.

I'm just gonna put this out there:

the one thing that would make me watch this show would be regular guest appearances by Detective John Munch.
