I swear, I wish WarCraft could be played without the concept of Guilds. This is a rant as I really am pissed at guilds right now. Here is a little bit of history.
I was in a guild called The Great Ones on Tichandrius, it was great family oriented guild, but then our grandmaster, a real-life friend of mine, wanted to raid more often and decided to merge with another guild called No Mercy. We ended up becoming Blood Royale. The guild started out fine, but over time members of the "Council" that was created from all the leaders of both former guilds, began to shut themselves on a high horse, they refused to listen to anyone about any issues with the guild, believing that they knew better about everything. We even had a Warrior that thought he knew more about Hunters then all the Hunters in the Guild, including me (60 Orc Hunter). I decided to stick it out because I made some nice friends and my real-life friend was still in the council, and was the only person I could talk with about issues. We ended up not getting enough for raids, so we went on a co-op run with another guild, a arrangement that lasted a month before the "Council" decided they didn't like the other guild, got in a fight with the leaders of the other guild, and told all of us to not group with them, even though I made friends with lots of them. I ignored them and grouped with them on a MC run, a act that almost got me kicked from the guild. Finally they decided to merge agian, lots of us said we didn't want to merge agian, and what did the "Council" do? They gkicked the only council member that didn't want to do the merger, causing lots of players to leave, deleted any posts of others, like myself, asking not to merge, and went along with it anyways. I was sick of it, and told them I was going to take a break, so I didn't join the new merged guild, The Crimson Shadow. I took an entire month away from WoW before returning and going solo for a few weeks. I finally contacted my friend and said I was ready to come back. He was unable to invite me, as the "Council" said I would have to reapply through an application process, I decided to just do it anyways, and I was rejected because "They had enough Hunters". The thing I find funny is that supposedly friends can invite friends without the app process, but the "Council" didn't want my friend inviting me, and since he is also on the council he decided to just go along with it. My friend was not so worried about his position though to not give me "forum powers" that allowed me to see the behind the scenes of the Officer Forums. I read that one of the members of the "Council" said no to my reapply because my ISP disconnected me every hour for a second, and thus I would be a liability on raids. Bullcrap, I even said I didn't even care about raids in my application I made. The real reason, and I could tell in how he worded the sentence, he didn't like me because I actually had an opinion and didn't go along with the bullcrap that the "Council" spewed. Anyways I am now a free agent on Tich, I don't want to join a guild that is going to be stupid like that. |

Nice rant btw, kept it interesting.
Back on topic, yeah that is messed up. Kinda like the High Borne of the Night Elvs in old days. yes warcraft applies to all aspects of life... That they didnt reinvite becouse of their hunters is just messed. My brothers guild did somn like that to him, so hes gonna put his 60 pally on his realm and camp his old buddies. ![]()

My guilds is often friends I have in real life, and I dont do MC, so we are mostly BG and ZG. It is very good to have it like that, as I can trust everyone, and "Councils" never happens.

I've been in two guilds now that have broken up over stupid ass drama crap like that. And the worst part is, being a Rogue no one fucking wants my class. "I'm sorry, we are full on Rogues". Everyone is freaking full on Rogues. *sigh*

I just want to be able to get into a guild and talk with my friend agian, without having to whisper them all. Maybe I can make a new channel just for my friends and I, that might work and then I can stop even dealing with guilds, EPIC mean little to me. |

I hear ya. I play a hunter so you can imagine my distress when my guild leaders decieded that "they weren't having fun anymore" and left to go to icecrown. Needless to say, the guild bucklied in on itself....

On my server there is a damn crap load of them. I did /who Azshara and 90% of the people there were hunters. It nearly blinded me. I've been 60 for awhile now but I am still not in an epic raiding guild. I only tried once but the guild leader was such a bastard that I got pissed at him, gave him one of my essays of what I think of him and left the guild. Although he apologised I didn't go back, and now I am in a friendly PvP/ZG, AQ guild that is alright. Good thing is I am one out of 3 hunters, and am the most active one so I get all teh lootsx! Nonetheless... I aint no epix farmer.

What pisses me off the most is the last one I was in was doing really good. We were one of the top guilds on the server - we cleared BWL without breaking a sweat and we were just starting Ahn'Qiraj (we could kill Skarem easy and we killed the bug family once - tho I think that was due to a bug because Yauj suicided herself when we killed Kri once.. it was wierd). We almost got Satura but she bugged and reset at like 5%. We got that 5% down too after the reset, so we would have had her if not for her bugging out.
But yeah, the guild takes one week off raiding because some people are sick of it. People start playing alts on a different server. One time we didn't have enough for BWL and a bunch of ppl /gquit. After that it was a snowball effect. We didn't have enough ppl to do raids and everyone quit left and right. It got really rediculous. And of course, as I said, all the other guilds are full on rogues. Honestly, I don't care so much about the epics either, but I just love raiding. I loved going to BWL and Ahn'Qiraj even if I didn't get anything. I would *LOVE* to go to Naxxramas but it will probably never happen now. It just fucking pisses me off. I hardly even play the game anymore now because there's nothing to do. I do the holiday crap and that's about it. I've tried making alts but I just get sick of them. I hate leveling, and I really like my Rogue. I want to keep playing her. But noooo... *sigh*

But at least you will be doing Naxxramas after BC . A level 70 group could probably 20man it, so you will at least see it. :p Yeah I enjoy raiding more than getting epics; I was so excited (for lack of better word) when my guild finally beat Kurinnaxx a few days ago! We just do AQ20 and only just got past ole Kur. I mean I've been with lesser guilds before that died in a chain effect like the one you mentioned and we wiped at Kurinnaxx, so beating him after so many failed attempts was such a bang for me, even though that ugly thing ate all of us except 2, which managed to nuke his last few HP. I hate levelling too. -_- BC's level 70 cap will be fun when I'm 70. Till I level to it... well... ARGH!

Well, I have been in the guild I am with for about a year and a half now and never had any major problems. There is always some drama and stuff of course, but it usually weeded out quickly enouygh and people get over it. I hear alot of horror stories though so I guess I am just lucky. I also play a warlock, so it helps that there isn't millions of us running around

I can do Deadmines at 60 and solo Vancleef if I wanted, why would I never get to visit Naxx unless I stop leveling? |

Sorry, when the expansion comes, Molten Core will be doable with 15 lvl 70 guys and so on, this has already been said by Blizzard.
Thank god that my guild has managed to hold up despite the massive constant nerd guild drama over items, i would be holding my dick since i´m a rogue.

Dammit, i havent seen the source, but i wanted to believe it becouse having 15 people kill Kel'Thuzad is a lore-suicide.

There are worse things than that trust me.
Besides it will be more like 20 people, as MC will be for 15 and Naxx is way harder. So I'd say 20 people approximately.

Its also even more silly from a lore point of view. One minute I am fighting Vael in BWL, then "DING" and Nefarion is going to be like "dude no way! You have to be this short to ride the rollercoster, too bad, no Ashkandi for you." Thats just silly. |

Heh, that does make me wonder how viable running a 40 man raid zone will be for leveling once the cap increases. I mean, from Razorgore to Nef is probably quite a bit of XP, even divided 40 ways.

Nah raids are worth nothing. I took a lvl 58 alt all through MC, Rag and all, and didn't level once. They were worth quite a bit a while ago, until blizzard completely nerfed the exp probably to stop people from using it to level and I imagine that it would be the same here. You get much much more exp from just soloing and doing quests as normal, and I can hardly see that changing,
