I never really got why so many people went for a soldier(it's the most played class), I found their abilities to be lacking and their benefit of more weapons is negated once you get to choose another one in the collector ship.
For ME1 I went soldier and used the assault rifle, mainly because with the right mods it would never overheat and you could almost have enuff dakka.

For ME2 I went soldier again, but used the sniper rifle for no other reason than I like shooting people in the face.

I was a sentinel so weapons weren't that important to me, in ME1 I only had a pistol and in ME2 I alternated between pistol and SMG depending on the armor type of my enemy, until the halfway point where I got a sniper rifle and replaced my pistol.

I played as Adept(with assault rifle) in most of my playthroughs of ME1, tried vanguard and sentinel but full adept felt better. Engineer felt kinda broken in ME1.
In ME2 I went Adept the first time around and once I noticed Engineers were a lot more fun than in ME1, I did that. Adepts felt a bit nerfed because of the shared cooldown, there was less need for having multiple biotic abilities because you couldn't chain them. The engineer on the otherhand, had abilities to suit every enemy.
I'll probably end up playing as a Sentinel on my next playthrough, to have the best of both worlds, and extra armor.

Soldier using pistol and sniper until I got the three round burst assault rifle.

Renegade play through, infiltrator using sniper and pistol. Don't remind me about that SMG...

In both ME1&2 i played as a infiltraitor. ME1 i liked the assinate ability it was very helpful when you came across a geth juggernaut or somehting similar. Then in ME2 the time slow down was great for pulling off headshots that and it was easier to pick off the guys who stood in the back shooting damn rockets at you while fighting other crap.

Vanguard with Slam = game over for the collectors.

Second play through: almost pure paragon, rescued entire crew, all I need to do is download arrival and I'll be set.

I'm hungry for ME3 news! The only new stuff I could find is that along with Ashley or Kaidan, Garrus and Liara, Tali has also been confirmed as a squad member. James Sanders is now called James Vega and will be a teammate who will serve the role of introducing new players to the franchise.

I wonder if there will still be a way for us to alter our saved Shepard's face in ME3. I don't think he dies again.

wield all weapons unhindered now, but will have limited slots to carry

Infiltrator will have three.
Ahh it looks like the soldier is just becoming blander.

I liked the soldier back when he was the only one with heavy armor and was able to use all weapons well. Anyways I hope he gets something like immunity back but have it be better then fortification in ME2.

I believe that a main focus will be recruiting civilizations to fight the Reapers. I think that there will be Krogan v Salarians, Geth v Quarians, maybe some others, that we'll have to choose between, essentially. Like how in DAO you would choose between werewolves and elves.

According to Xbox World Magazine (http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/to.../index/7352856), Jack is also returning as a Squaddie, and we'll have less than 12 squadmates. I believe another article (maybe OXM?) confirmed that Wrex wont return, so that made me sadface.

Where did it say James Sanders is called James Vega now?

Twitter. Its down at the moment so I can't quote the guy exactly but CaseyDHudson said that they changed it to Vega

EDIT - Here you go

Quote:
He's actually James Vega now. We were still designing his character when GameInformer came by.

So I'm guessing he's no longer related to Kahlee Sanders?

I don't think he was in the first place, which is probably what prompted the name change. At best the relation was a maybe. Or maybe BioWare wants to cover it up so they can have it as a plot twist.

That original game informer said that Wrex is back (if he is not dead), but didn't say if he would be playable or not.

I hope that Mordin is on the team, he was my favorite from ME2.

Right, Wrex is BACK, obviously, but I believe it said he would not be playable, but would "help the player out in another capacity". He'll probably coordinate the Krogan armies if he's still alive, and maybe assist in a fight as a non-controllable NPC.

It's said that the Cerberus will turn on Shepard in ME3, decided to hunt him and the Normandy II down. Looks like the Illusive Man had allied himself with the Reapers.

I'm not so sure if he has, I think there must be another reason why the Illusive Man is against Shepard.

I'm tempted to do the same. The thing is, I didn't romance anyone in ME1, and so the choice actually came down to "bland vs. stick up her ass". I let Kaidan die because my shep was already a sentinel, though if they upgrade him to bro tier in ME3 I'm totally gonna replay it and save his ass.

Ashley can experience character growth over the course of the game. Kaiden is like recruiting a character who has already resolved their arc before you meet them. It was never really a choice.

Her views on the world change as you influence her. Take her with you the last time you are on the Citadel.

Apparently either Kaidan or Ashley are now the second human spectre.
