There certainly are a lot of them, aren't there?
I think I'd have to go with the Nexus War. Malygos, old friend...it shouldn't have ended that way. |

Really? The Nexus War? Over things like the genocide of the draenei? Really?

Well if we're going to include extradimensional events, sure, I'll have to reconsider. But on Azeroth I think the Nexus War was the most tragic. Perhaps not the most destructive, or the most horrific. But it made me the most depressed.

I will be typical and say Sundering. It ripped everything to pieces probably killed millions of creatures and people.
After that it would be Draenei being massacred. I felt really bad/sad reading about it. Kind of glad that horse is dead. |

Kind of hard to say, there are lots of tragedies. Sundering, draenei genocide, Terenas' Death and Arthas' fall to darkness etc.
I'm mostly tied between The Nexus War(yeah, I really liked Malygos, sue me) and Terenas' death along with Arthas' fall.

Are we talking about one specific event, or just a longer process? I've always felt that the fall of the human kingdoms is pretty awful. Just imagine how many people must've died, cultural stuff lost and so on.

Agreed. Though how they have the numbers to be the main force of the Alliance is beyond me. Same goes for the orcs. Oh well.

Certainly doesn't compare to some of the ones already mentioned but Muradin's "death" was tragic to me. Arthas and Muradin were really tight bros too.

Draenei Genocide. A terrible, terrible thing.
The Scourge of Quel'Thalas, also.

Every other force of the Alliance has been devastated as well or started off as small forces anyway, although I'm not sure how badly the Dwarves were hit. Same with the Horde.

Well, except for the Dark Irons. But in general, the Dwarves have always succeeded and thrived.

They should probably be presented as more powerful.

The thing is, they were never very powerful to begin with.
