Sadly, I never bring cameras around with me. That and apparently I see the light every time I'm around one.

Where'd you get the unedited version of that? That's better than the one Warlock linked.

I took the liberty of using the burn tool a little bit. I didn't take that digital art class last year for nothing!

Can we have a vote on this page dictating that Omacron shall shave his head at next year's Blizzcon? Any other SoL members that attend will be responsible for enacting the verdict.

I was just watching the Diablo 3 panel, when suddenly at the Q&A part, a wild Omacron appeared.
By the way it was a very nice question.

Except they skipped half of it. I liked the mute conversation between Omacron and the guy holding the mic after the first half was answered.
Omacron obviously tried to ask about the other half, and the other dude was like "No more question from you" "I'll kill you"-glare "No more question from you"-stare "okay then" |

The Warcraft Q&As said the following to me: They care about the fans, they care about the game, but they have no idea what is going on. The answers were non-answers, "I don't know"s, and "we have nothing planned/written"s. There was hardly anything at all. Gallywix? Gilneas? Throne of the Tides? Nope.

Forgot to mention you may also want to check the art panel:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7SL8mscXA8 There was actually a bit of lore in there as well. In particular, the four cardinal directions are represented by animals - I believe it was the White Tiger of the West, Black Ox of the North, Jade Serpent of the East, and Red Crane of the South. Each animal is also represented by a clan - the white tigers are the military clan, the red cranes are the casters, the jade dragons are the monks/priests, and the Shado-pan represent the Black Ox for some reason (which was actually the only one that didn't make sense to me - an Ox is a large, lumbering animal... how does that say "ninja?"). But anyways, each zone is designed around these themes, so that's why you have the Jade Forest with a very jade-dragon-y theme, etc. There is also an interesting bit during the prop discussion (which is quite possibly the funniest segement of any panel) that actually translates the Pandaren written language. But seriously, if you watch it for nothing else, Eric Browning is freaking great. I had to watch his segement a few times because I was laughing so hard ![]()

I'm pretty sure the tiger and ox are flipped.

The art clearly shows the tiger as the military clan. I mean, they are wearing a tiger pelt....

They said they based it on the four animal aspects, not that they had to copy it entirely. Might be they just left out the ox entirely.

As for why they might be oxen, aside from being ninjas the Shado-Pan are supposed to be the guardians of Pandaria, searching out evil and either eliminating or imprisoning it. They could be using the ox to represent being sturdy guardians. |

Also the supposed zone of the Ox clan is behind the great wall where all the violent mantid are so they might have moved

Yeah the whole thing is weird. I hope despite that concept art they swapped tiger and ox. Tiger makes more sense for the Shado-pan, and Ox makes sense for the military (because Oxen are strong
)
