Should be Shaman in WoW. I think it'd be Shamen in the real world.

Just like how the plural of Necropolis is Necropoli in WoW, when in truth, it's a greek word and should be Necropoleis.

Shaman has nothing to do with the word man, but you are right wow does use shaman, even though shamans was used in WC3.

I imagine Kael as the nerdy guy who is in love with the cheerleader. They've known each other since childhood. She hangs out with him only because she feels sorry for him, and loves the dumb jock (Arthas). The nerd suffers from broken heart, joins the dark side, and plans revenge on everybody.

And the dumb jock turns into a hobo and freezes to (un)death.

DKs have potential but are burdened with certain lore travesties. Warlocks and shadow priests are indeed awesome, but I kind of find all priests to be awesome.

I'm having trouble finding images online, but I really like the look of the Orc Warlocks in Reign of Chaos. With the black facemasks, instead of red robes. They look like... like they're "next generation", or something. Silly warlock kids.

Truly, these were great. They also had golden scepters and bearpaw-shields. This unit practically "got" me into warlocks, shame they were campaign-only. Might have made a better third spellcaster.

Orcs are the only true warlocks. Maybe elves too, but inferior to the orcs.

The Morgaine mindset of "we do not belong" is what I feel is Deathkights limiting factor. What pontential is their in class where the leader is happy enough to sit back do nothing and gumply wait until they die again.

They need act more like the first generation death Kinghts. More like warlocks. Their sole existence should't use be to deal with Scourge or Forsaken. Its a narrows scope even further.

Undead is their thing, but that encompass shadow, diseases , bones, Liches, abominations, frost, blood magic, and even bit of rune magic.

They even have a working necropolis, why aren't figgering that out and using it more.

Instead of Morgaine of philosophy been just weapons to be used until thier destroyed. They should take more direct aporach in study their very nature. What they are, what opportunities it has for them.

Some would still share Morgaine view and deal undead. But thier should be others who figure out that stuff that makes them what they are. Like going into a ancient Troll burial ground, study undeath not related to the scourge or Forsaken, hell maybe investigate the old Deathnights of Dreanor.

Experiment with undeath, figure what make them it work, maybe even have some try and find a cure to their need to cause pain.

Or maybe just have few act more like the Warlocks they originally came from.

Give them something work on, build, and have them justify thier own place in the world.

Give them a future

Also, Warlocks are indeed awesome.

The term "shamanism" originates from the Tungusic languages of eastern Siberia, and was originally used by western scholars to describe the practices of certain types of magico-religious specialist within Central and Northern Asia. Upon learning more about religious traditions across the world, western scholars also used the term "shamanism" in reference to similar magico-religious practices found within the indigenous religions of other parts of Asia, Africa, Australasia and the Americas.
Nope, and every source, besides some parts of wow, uses shamans as it's plural.

I think Manchu-Tungusic languages are close to Turkic ones, but are not the same, just like Mongolian. Altaic family unites them all (although I was surprised to read that there actually is some controversy over the family's existence).

Both are right and the plural should have been samasal (shamasal), but shamans is the form that gets used in the English language.
