Default Metalshifter - New Class

(Always wanted to do a class suggestion thing, so here's mine)

There's a potential power that's untapped in Warcraft. And it's stuff like stone/metal. But yet... it's alive, just like all of nature. Or at least that's what I'm gathering here. I think the Old Gods know a lot more than we do, so let's let them take the stage:

#1
Quote:
All places, all things have souls. All souls can be devoured.
Everything is alive, according to Yogg Saron. Everything has a soul.

#2
Quote:
The giant rook watches from the dead trees. Nothing breathes beneath his shadow.
Karazhan, most likely. It's alive, and possibly malicious in nature.

What if new types of 'druids', or whatever you wanted to call them started showing up that attempted to commune with stone, metal, what have you? Perhaps a cult that wanted to solve the mysteries of things like Karazhan but ended up realizing it can be used as a power. Drawing energy/power from different types of structures would yield a different, secondary effect.

For example, if you're on the 'Karazhan talent tree' your armor would be shadow/void-infused. If you're say, taking power from the 'Sulfuron Keep talent tree', your attacks could be infused with flame.

Ultimate talents could be them summoning the spirit/avatar of these colossal structures to fight for them. e.g. "Manifestation of Karazhan" - A creature of madness.

The product would be them encasing themselves in a metal combat suit. Perhaps partially at first:

Like arm attachments for extra damage, leg attachments for extra speed.

Hell, even summoning up shields of stone/metal to suit their needs. Creating a dome around themselves for full temporary protection. Even manipulate the ground they are on and creating a metal surface, which they can then make slippery from their Abyssal Maw armor set. Causing PvP foes to slip/slow down or whatever.

A combat suit of full Saronite? Hell yeah. This comes to mind as a potential form (Cooldown):

Or something like this for armor:

(Don't mind what it actually is, I just like the look)

Thoughts?

A combat suit of full Saronite is a really bad idea. Not only it will make you batshit crazy, but your character is doomed to the void. Also, if you take damage, what's stopping you to regenerate the part you lost ? That will make duels long as hell.

I dunno, it's just a basic idea. It doesn't have to be saronite. But the general idea is that you use stone/metal as a defensive and offensive power. Stats/balance really isn't on my radar.

Maybe the Cult will have ways around going insane if they are truly communing with the material. Like a pact/contract is made.

We already spent half of WotLK encased in Saronite Armor (particularly if you wear plate) and turned out fine, and we've seen nothing to suggest it "dooms you to the void." If you're referring to Sylvanas it's explicitly stated that she's there because she was a bitch and not because of interactions with saronite.

Wowowo... hold on.

Is that a Prototype 2 concept art or just really early Prototype art?

Because I would really really like to be given the power's of a omnicidal, omnieating, sentient virus on a rampage again!

The picture itself is an in-game screenshot that's edited, doesn't look as good as that in-game.

Prototype 2 has been out for a while, since April 24th. The game sucked and I put it down after 3 days, it's a lot of the same crap, a bad uninteresting SP, and yeah... bad free roam. The powers you got in P1 give so much more than P2.

Also, the company that made it has been terminated, they are no longer developing games. Their PC lauch sucked balls, it's buggy and terrible.

But yeah, go ahead and shell out $60 if you feel like it. To each their own.

Honestly? Because theres no room for new classes any more, Blizzard has pretty much covered all angles. Everything else is either been absorbed by other classes (Demon Hunter), very difficult to be written seriously (Bard) or just way too niche/obscure (half the rpg classes).

Add in the fact that all logic says the next class has to be a mail wearer and your options are almost gone. Only thing I can think of is Tinker and Engineering already has all the good stuff in a gimped version.

Two enter...and both probably will leave but everyone will be facepalming.
