Diplomacy in a series called Warcraft is a bigger oxymoron than I'm prepared to deal with right now.

We need humans and orcs fighting, now! They came together in WarIII fought off the undead and demons, killed and looted everything in WoW. Ok, that's done. Warcraft IV I want humans and orcs killing each other.

If WarCraft 4 is just orcs and humans mindlessly fighting it'll be an even worse story than WoW's.

Diplomacy is part of War. War results when diplomacy fails.

Ok, so just have Diplomacy fail in WoW and Warcraft IV can be about humans and orcs battling for world domination!

I don't think you understand Aldrius that Warcraft's survival depends upon this basic fact. With the Legion and Scourge gone the Alliance and Horde won't have any threats to them. So what are they going to do for another game? Make a RTS Warcraft SIMS basically? NO! They are going to have another war!

I object to what you've said. Warcraft's storyline was the two factions fighting one another and it was WAAAAY better than WoW's "story".

You can object to it all you like.

If there's no context and they do it without sufficient build-up. Not only will it be worse than WoW's story. It will completely invalidate anything that was good about WarCraft 3.

Who says the Scourge and Legion are going anywhere? Kil'jaeden didn't die. And Arthas's death =|= The Scourge's destruction.

One way to admittedly continue the series; without inventing some massive badass threat out of absolutely nothing, or recycling old ones, would be to set a sequel into the future.
All this is ancient history! That way any new threats would make sense and not be obviously pulled straight out of one's anal cavity. Though they'd really have to do a good job of continuity to keep it in the Warcraft spirit. Which might be asking for too much.
Or a sequel could be less epic and simply focus on one of the unsolved problems we have been introduced to thus far.

No, it's rather unlikely. They've got so much stuff going for them right now.
I do genuinely question whether we shall ever see a Warcraft 4 to be honest. I'm saying that because I expect their focus to remain on World of Warcraft for quite some time; and if they want side projects they've got Diablo and currently Starcraft anyway.
