Default Diablo 3 questions

I have a few questions bout the upcoming 2009 or 2010(Thats just my guess for release date) game Diablo 3:

1. Right now there are only two character classes out of five confirmed the barbarian and the witch doctor. Do you expect any other classes from Diablo 2 to appear or will the last three also be origional for this game?

2. http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3/world/worldmap.xml

The world map covers all of the diablo world. Will we be able to explore most of the Diablo world and have the unexplored areas appear in an expansion?

3. For now the monsters that are confirmed are: Undead (The only existing from D2 confirmed so far), Khazra, Gnarled Walkers, and Dark Cultists. I bet that there will be monsters from D1 and D2 too. But will there be other new unseen monsters as well?

4. The appearence of dark cultsts look like humans with semi-demonic features. Does that mean that we will also fight corrupted humans as well as demons and undead?

5. How deep will the new tristram cathadeal dungeon be?

6. Will there be a hardcore mode?

7. Will Blizzard somehow revive Diablo for this game cuz it wont be a Diablo game without him?

8. Who will be the final boss of this game?

9.Will the last two lesser evils Belial and Azmondal appear?

1) There will definatly be a sorceror kind-of class and most likely (unless something drasticly happened during the 20 years) some Holy Light guy, a Paladin or somesort of Crusader, maybe (but hopefully not) a priest guy perhaps too, but we need some sort of caster-melee guy!

2) Noone knows atm.

3) Most definatly, maybe even Angelic creatures.

4) Yep, people worship Diablo and other Greater (and Lesser) Evils.

5) Noone knows atm

6) Why not? So i'd say: most likely.

7) Well Diablo IS seen on the cinematic but on his shoulders he got 2 mouths so maybe he and his brothers emerged into 1 single monsterious being, mind you, this is just 1 silly theory i have, but a Diablo game withouth Diablo isn't really Diablo.

8) Noone knows atm, it could be an Angel for all we know.

9) I think they confirmed that, since Hell is still in their own civil war, and stuff.

Diablo is dead. Confirmed y Blizzard.

But that means, at least for me, that he is no longer the Diablo we know...

All your questions have pretty much been answered, but I want to mention my theory for the storyline of Diablo 3.

Ever notice how Diablo walks back into Hell and just takes it over? No resistance from Belial and Azmondal? We do learn that much of the banishment that occurred long ago was orchestrated so the Prime Evils could gain the power of the Soulstones. We know Andarial and Durel join Diablo on his mission to the east, but what if the entire time Belial and Azmondal were in on it also? What if all those years that the Prime Evils were gone, they were building a secret army, one hidden from the High Heavens and the mortals of Sanctuary?

Now, to scale back a bit here, lets look into the Prime Evils. They wanted the power of the Soulstones, which is why they orchestrated the banishment, knowing that the Tyrael would use the stones on them. Now why would the Prime Evils even care about the stone, since they in essence made them extremely vulnerable?

Now, the Worldstone. We know that Baal, after the death of his brothers, went to Arreat and took his stone, putting it back into the Worldstone and corrupting it. Tyrael, in one final act to stop the corruption, destroyed the stone, in essence, destroying Baal.

Here is where things get complicated. What if we still have not seen the extent of the plan, what if the destruction of the Worldstone was not a way to open hell to Sanctuary, but instead open Hell to the Heavens? Tyrael, the greatest warrior of the heavens, was supposedly so distraut over destroyed the Worldstone, that he put himself into a exile. What if all this was just part of the plan?

So, as the world of Sanctuary wonder what is going to happen following the destruction of the Worldstone, and Tyrael wanders the world confused, a portal opens up in the High Heavens, and through it steps hundreds of years worth of hellspawn lead by Belial and Azmodal, they pour over the heavens like a cancer, and even with all the strength they have between them, they can't stop the tide of evil.

The meteor seen in the cinematic, crashes into a church of some type. What if the meteor is an angel, dying, trying to escape heaven as it becomes shattered under the might of hell. He lands, ironically, on a church being occupied by the apprentice of Decard Cain, and tells her of what is happening, and that she much find Tyrael so that he would return and lead the forces of heaven to stop the demon invasion. You start out, traveling through familiar locations and fighting local evils, like cultists, goatmen, etc...

As you continue looking for Tyrael, the warriors of hell learn what you are doing and more and more creatures start to appear to stop you. Finally, you reach Tyrael only to learn that he too, was corrupted. Though the Soulstones were shattered, parts of them still remained. Tyrael, believing that destruction in truth is inevitable, stabs all the shards all over his body, instantly cementing the essence of all three of the Prime Evils. With heaven being destroyed, and the Prime Evils now the ultimate prime demon, the real terror begins as demons now pour into sanctuary from the weakened barriers caused by the destruction of the Worldstone. Prime as I will call the new demon, heads to heaven to take charge of the destruction, sending Belail down to Sanctuary to lead that invasion, while Azmondal is sent to Hell to protect the gateway to heaven. The heroes first fight back the demon invasions of Sanctuary and kill Belial, then move back to hell and defeat Azmondal, before entering into heaven. It is there you are almost killed by the unimaginable tide of demons, only to be saved by the few Arch Angels that remain, and taken to a heavenly city. This leads to the final battle, where you must fight your way through the hellish heavens in order to defeat Prime.

That sure would be interesting, but again, just a theory.

Coolest - theory - ever.

I still find strange that "Worldstone destroyed opens a portal from hell to heaven" thing, but the idea of the meteor being an angel...

And, I don't know if I understanded you well, but... Tyrael taking the 3 stones and becoming a Super-Diablo? Hell cool. I wonder what happens if someone takes the 3 stones in his body.

I believe there's going to be war between hell and heavens, but I don't think that the worldstone opened anything yet.

You know what, ScytheRexx? They should hire you as main creator of Diablo 3 storyline. It's really what I wish to see, just change the name of the new Archdemon, and it would be completely fantastic.

Blizzard said the Barbarian would be the *only* class returning from the original Diablo games. That being said, I fully expect a new version of the Sorcerer and Rogue/Amazon at the very least. They will probably just call them something different and change up their spells a little bit. Afterall, the Witch Doctor is a lot like the Necromancer.

Really? I certainly hope for a Crusader or sum then! (would be like the Paladin but not directly )

I thought they said Necromancer is not out of the question.

Ah, that's more like it.

(I never read the materials that much, just listened to the highlights from Handclaw)

It depends wether Blizz can do an expansion if you want to see that class. Hellgate: London was like Diablo and it has no Expansion. Not cuz ppl hate it but cuz it has too many bugs. And oh if there was an necro class then it should be able to summon demons as well as undead.

Necromancers are all about controlling the dead, they laugh at demologists who need to make pacts with the demon masters and so forth.

Hellgate London is a horrible Diablo copy and its good to see Flagship Studio go down since they were too egoistic into making a great game, and were hoping the fact they were ex-Blizzard was gonna give them all the forgiveness and what not if the launch wasn't perfect.

PS. Tho i wouldn't mind some demonic class in Diablo, i really don't think it will fit for the setting.

As farah the rouge Paladin would have said "Evil uses mankind, not the other way around"

It isnt horrible from a critic point of view but rather from the public vew. Most critics give it "a seemly postive review" to fair reviews. With PC gamer being the most postive. The only "completly negative" reviews are from X-Play and 1UP.

And oh it isnt cuz FSS was stupid it is because

1. They are poor.

2. They like to rush and want to release th game ASAP

3. They fire too much people most likely this is related to #1

4. Too much bugs in HGL

5. Bad supscriptions

So thats the reason for their(FSS) demise. They should have sought finachal help or collarbrated with some other source who knows how to do the job(Ie: Blizz).

I dont despise HGL anyways I give it 7.5/10 I subtracted many points cuz of the bugs and crashes.

Also I heard rumors that modders are becoming intersted in this game. The rumors say that they are making extra stuff for this game and also making LAN servers (AKA: Private serers!) as soon as flagship dies or can no longer support the servers. So I can see HGL still exist for a couple of years. If they suceed then this game can get a 9/10 in my book.

Also I think the witch doctor will replace the necomacer. They should be able to summon limited demons.

I can see where they want to go to art direction, but I prefer the first style Diablo much more. Anyway, it's good to have news of Diablo 3, I can not wait to play.
