Agreed. I love the feeling of Vashj'ir. That constant feeling of being trapped in a desperate situation with NPCs dying left and right. You make progress through the zone not because you are succeeding, but because that's the only way to survive. Then at the end, you survive but you lose. That is how most of WotLK should have played out.

I am the GUY WHO DIDN'T TAKE THE 'RPG PERSONALITY TEST'
Discussing the lore is enough for him. A master of facts and reason. Words are his weapons of choice. He deftly posts snide comments with deep-biting cynicism. His ego is healthy enough that he does not need to take online tests and post the results in his signature to gain a sense of identity or self-worth. He also probably did not take this test over again until he got the results he wanted. The Guy Who Didn't Take the 'RPG Personality Test' strives for logic, truth, and sanity above all else.

I got sick of the "kill 12 monster, gather 10 fish" scheme they had going throughout that zone. You got two quests every new 'outpost'. One had you kill 12 of something and the other had you gather 10 of something. Add on to that that the zone has a million of those, along with many others, some more interesting than the others, and the zone was pretty painful in my opinion.
The story was great, and the end scene was amazing, but the quests were fairly bland and awful.

Agreed. I like Vashj'ir's story a lot, but it takes forever to really get going and the entire zone is filled with grindy shit even when the story is near the end.

I prefer Hyjal, myself.

When Cataclysm was announced I was a bit horrified about the fact that "the world will never be the same". Ashenvale cut down? Durotar flooded? The Barrens fall into lava? Wow, now that would be a groundbreaking expnasion!

All of it turned out, for better or worse, to not be the case. Yes, there were some changes, as well as new quests, but it looked like most of the developers' worktime was wasted on adapting the old world into flying mode. A hard work, yes, but still...

I also think the Alliance-Horde conflict was stupid because of the lack of reasons for relations to suddenly heaten after the joint victory against the Lich King. Now, remember the announcement time? The war was supposed to happen because the Cataclysm destroyed so much land that the nations saw themselves lacking resources and went to "neutral" zones to fight for those with each other. While we had a mining subplot in Kalimdor, I think this aspect was still not emphasized enough, if not just say scrapped. Which is a pity, for it could make the war look needed and believable for both factions, without any need to seek "who attacked first".

And a little bit of personal complaining: I hate how they turn my favorite characters into something abysmal every expansion. First, Kael, Vashj, Kargath and Teron. Then, Ner'zhul. Now, Thrall and Deathwing. Evey one of them changed in one way or another, but I must say I didn't like any of changes. There, said it.

Still, I will continue to buy Blizzard's fine products. Reminds me of a joke about how mice were crying and pricking themselves, but obstinately kept eating cactus.
