Does this mean the CDev Q and A will appear sometime within the next decade perhaps? God, I hope so!

I should get around to reading all the runner-ups, if they're posted elsewhere.

Thanks for the heads up, Omacron!

No, I'm just surprised/glad it mentioned Nyorloth.

Edit: By the way, why are there only three finalists? What happened to the rest of the stories listed here? Looks like there used to be seven. 0_o

I love how everyone's managed to batter down Omacron's sense of self esteem enough that this is his reaction to being asked if something is his work.

The same here. I can't believe they allow you to mention him, giving that all the threads reclaiming an explanation for his firing or at least a "good bye" were closed, as if it was a taboo.

The way they talk about him in the present tense and still being there; I wonder if they'll hire someone else and call him Nyroloth, as if its a position rather than the name they chose for Ocular Fortitude.

That's kind of a disturbing thought.

There must always be a Nyorloth.

Because he's the hero the lore deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. Nyorloth.

Makes sense if you wrote it then. When I read it initially I went 'Is Blizzard really mentioning someone they laid off?'

The Warcraft stories were incredibly disappointing, more forsaken garbage, dead people lamenting over being dead, dead people beating a dead horse.

I did like that there was a blood elf story in the finalists, could always use a little more of that and it was nice that it was acknowledged.

Starcraft was great, it ended with a bang!

Yeah, I really want to read the full thing somewhere. Seems like it takes place around Quel'Delar, which is essentially post-In the Shadow of the Sun. Do want.

Despite the fact I hate anything to do with Lordaeron with a flaming passion these days, I actually really want to read that story with Darion and Sylvanas. I had a very similar idea for a short story once, about Tirion confronting Sylvanas about her expansionism. I'd like to see how that idea turned out.

The author posted it a while ago, I seem to recall. It ended with the reveal that Darion was working for Calia.

I didn't like that one very much, probably because it felt like the story was really about showcasing a fan theory rather than about the characters. For someone who wasn't on the forums and didn't know all the hype about Calia, would that ending mean anything? She doesn't even get a developed personality because she only appears as a "surprise" at the end. And I kind of rolled my eyes at the details of how wonderfully preserved she is despite being undead.

(I'd still like to see excerpts of the rest of the finalists. The previous years seem to have more of them.)

I just don't understand why don't they simply publish all of the stories which they found worthy of mention on their website.

It is very irritating to find out about a story you like and not be able to read more then a few lines of it, or just the title.

I just don't get the thought process behind not showing them, it is just text it won't take much bandwidth...

Omacron I hate to ask a request but I think this is one question you may be able to answer, if not get the stories published.
