So he's working on localization for the Chinese version of the game, I take it? Good for him, localization is pretty cool.

I've got a friend who works at Aksys Games, and I've done a bit of that on my own for fan translations for Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and Final Fantasy guidebooks, and it's great fun.

It's all about looking at the dialogue and terminology from multiple angles, getting a feel for the meaning and hidden implications, and then trying your best to convey it to a new audience in a new language, while staying consistent.

Ahem, in case Blizzard talent scouts are reading this, I've also got some experience as a story and technical consultant, 2d animation lead, and character designer for indie games... not to mention a thorough grasp of Blizzard's visual style and lore, plus thousands of edits on wowpedia.

Curll's been translating the short stories for a while and now he's getting a steady paycheck and some recognition for it. And he gets to read them before everyone else.

Fashionably late as always but congrats Curll. Nice to see you get recognized and now paid for something you enjoy doing. Good luck.

Congratulations. I'm happy to hear that you've been hired for a job that you truly want, and I hope you enjoy your time with Blizzard. Good luck.
