Pandas are stupid and ought to be genetically engineered so they can gake care of themselves or preferably left to die out

Snakes and alligators are important parts of our ecosystems

I fed a chicken to an alligator once. I thought it was pretty cute. Gators deserve to live. They and their crocodilian ancestors have made it through multiple extinction events.

Just look at that cheeky grin!

But I can't dangle my legs over water because of alligators. Some prehistoric reptilian monster would eat me. That is terrifying and an infringement on my freedom.

Pretty sure DNA isn't enough, even ignoring epigenetics (and we can't) there is also the womb which I think is an overlooked issue. It is a kind of biological inertia. You can't birth a camel can't give birth to a horse, it would be like having the correct blueprints but the wrong tools.
But I suppose you just have to hope such hurdles are overcome in the future. Criogenics style

If it is any comfort to you though, such gene banks already exist.

I have always been an ardent supporter of mosquito and tick extinction.

Flies can stay... but I'm watching them.

I still say we let the alligators have Florida.

If you manage to survive millions of years and maintain apex predator status without much of any adaptation, you're alright by my book.

And so you would commit genocide on reptilian americans? For shame PJ.

Not among the species that are going extinct it doesn't.

I just feel like animals dying is unavoidable. I eat meat all the time. I benefit from animal experimentation and slavery. We aren't the only life form that sustains itself off of other life forms.

I care about the humans the most.

Slaughterhouses are not the primary engines of extinction in this age.

How terrible.

If I had the power I'd give many if not most cetaceans personhood and human or near-human rights. Same goes for elephants, primates and other highly intelligent animals.

You didn't hear about that? Been a problem for years. Between that and Lyme's I never go into the woods (or areas where the woods come to us) without long pants and socks, even in the height of summer.

Normal disease is fine, I can either die or recover. I can get over that, but having to watch what you eat for the rest of your life or die from an allergy attack would be mentally exhausting.

We can make fun of "bread and circuses". But people fight back hard, HARD, when you try to take either away.

(For clarification, delicious meats and dairy count as both bread and circus.)

You should always watch what you eat, no matter the circumstances.

Now this is some good science.

The comic continues to analyze the study much further on and I think really serves as a foundation of the modern attempts at curbing drug usage that've shown promise.
