Looks like Whedon is going to write and direct a standalone Batgirl.

Interesting. With Whedon at the helm it has the potential to be good, but we'll see. The real question is whether SJW's lose their shit and turn on him again. They're already complaining that a woman isn't directing it and wouldn't surprise me if WB is trying to talk Affleck into at least making a cameo, which would further make them bitch about him stealing the spotlight.

What happens to her in The Killing Joke seems like a more tame fate than being written by Sensitive Joss AND being part of the DCEU. And I doubt any of these will get real production before Justice League. They've already rushed with a few movies before BvS came out and when it underperformed they had no choice but to continue unless they wanted to lose even more money. So my guess is they're trying to set scripts and everything so the production could go faster in case WW and JL do great at the box office.

Barbara is my least favorite Batgirl so it doesn't bother me that much. I like Cassandra the most, and Hollywood hates Asian leading actors. Stephanie is cool too.

Although it'll likely be Barbara since she's the most well-known, they haven't said which one it'll be yet. Virtually nothing is known at this point.

I wish they could get Felicity Jones back to the new Spiderverse. She's perfect for Black Cat.

Spider-Man going back to Sony after Infinity War is fucking godawful news. I wouldn't be nearly as worried if they were like Fox and actually knew what they were doing with their properties. (Fant4stic notwithstanding.)

There is at least a 10,000% chance it will be Barbara

"Teaser trailer"

It's almost 2 minutes long, makes you wonder how long the "actual" trailer might be.

Why do trailers nowadays need to show the entire movie?

The Immigrant Song on a Thor trailer....

Whoever had that idea deserves a medal.

I bet Hela would end up like all the other "SO POWERFUL" MCU villains, suffer a silly defeat.

They just love to use LotR actors to play villain. Gandalf, Elrond, Thranduil, Thorin and now Galadriel.

Thor should be high fantasy based and stay away from Earth.

I watched the first half of Suicide Squad again when it was on HBO.

Why'd they feel the need to include so many different rock and pop songs scene after scene? Was it a desperate attempt to try to be cool and edgy?

Probably an effort to compete with the "music-heavy comedic comic book romp" precedent set by Guardians of the Galaxy. Note their increasing reliance upon mixing contemporary pop songs and modern remakes of rock classics (we had Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody in SC and now Aerosmith's Come Together in the JL trailer.) Musical demographic-fishing at its most basic, a la Batman Forever/Batman & Robin.

In a way that's what I've found most frustrating about DC's films. I want them to be good, and I want them to succeed. Unfortunately, this isn't Marvel making their movies for their properties under Disney's umbrella; this is Warner Brothers - i.e. the umbrella itself - making DC's movies for them. Next to the comparative freedom Marvel's bought with its past successes in film, DC Comics itself is a bit player with minimal autonomous control of its properties. So while compared to the MCU the DCEU had hardly even started, it's nonetheless already plagued by the same sort of hamfisted, studio-mandated, merchandising-above-all-else thinking that eventually torpedoed the 80's/90's Batman franchise.

Not to mention that studio wants it all done now, rather than taking the time to grow the universe over the course of several solo movies.

Iron Man came out in 2008, and The Avengers came out in 2012. Four movies came out in between.

Man of Steel came out in 2013, BvS came out in 2016, and JL is coming out in 2017.

The Alliance's three rules on faction conflict:
1) You can't win.
2) You can't break even.
3) You can't leave the game.

Traditionally, you place the numeral representation in parentheses.

Also, you only do it when you are trying to pretend to be knowledgeable about legal stuff. You stuff in as much latin as possible, make the sentences ridiculously long, make sure that you overuse acronyms, overuse standard lawyer words, and at all cost avoid giving the overall picture.

While we are on the topic of super hero movies.

Logan was a Borefest i nearly slept through the movie, the plot was predictable as fuck and bland to be honest, and the only reason people like it is because it is the last movie for Xavier and Logan.
