Two questions before I agree:

1) You say I can't die, but can I be injured? Can I get a debilitating disease, or an incurable one? For instance, if I abuse my future-wizard powers to get me some stone age poontang and I catch herpes as a result, will I spend the next twenty millennia dealing with flareups?

2) What's the time limit on this offer? Cuz if I'm going back I'd like to develop a working knowledge of how to create a rudimentary firearm.

Well, let's say this person who sends you back, he obviously gives you immortality until you're back to your own time (When you reach 2012 again, the clock turns on again). Then he'd make you immune to any disease, and you'd be teleported away (Minimum safest distance) if you were in such a scenario where you were about to be executed or something. Like he'd want to ensure you're doing your purpose of gathering knowledge over the vast amount of years you'd live through.

Time Limit. Let's say he'll give you 2 months to think about it/prepare.

Yeah but what about your anus is it that makes faeces cling to it so fiercely that only water can get it off?

Uh, Genya, did we not just go through this kind of stuff with Ashendant? Language is one thing, but pics/gifs like that are clearly NSFW.

Well at least this thread succeeded in one thing, proving that there really isn't a Gaga gif for every occasion.

Yeh, checking out the year 0AD was my first thought too.

Anyway my fantastic idle thoughts deal with accessing a dimension which is able to emulate any scenario, no matter if it is a 6x6 feet cell or a nigh-infinite multiverse... basically God's drawingboard. Then I would go crazy designing universes, alternate histories... you name it.

On topic, I would agree. Can't see anything wrong with that offer, but as Avon said seeing the future is way more interesting. The past may be filled with bullshit but we more then likely have a pretty decent picture of it, the future... ah the future.

The limits of the human mind makes us mentally exhausted the older we get. We can barely break the one century before we the load becomes too great.

I can not imagine the suffering of 22 000 years of living. Holy shit. Why would you wish that upon yourself?

I see oblivion as an immense blessing.

I compare it to staying awake for so long that you want to fall down and die, but you are unable to do so.

And then death is much like a eternal sleep.

I actually spent some time thinking about using the future knowledge to, say, take over the world, and when I started thinking about how I'd use that power the first thing that came to mind was indulging some of my more outlandish peccadilloes. It's probably a very good thing I'm not in a position of power.

Hah way ahead of you.

I have long since realized that the vision I would enforce would come off as living hell to some of the more free spirited persons. After all to create the perfect society all the components need to work like clockwork.

If I was given immortality I would definitely learn about everything in the world. Especially science and technology, I guess. I would become an astronaut and have a journey to the cosmos.

No thanks, I'd rather not go through 20,000 years of no toothpaste, deodorant, or toilet paper.

Being ageless in the future though... now there's a dream. Spend an eternity guiding humanity's hand out towards the stars.
