Doctor Who has been one of those things that i have never disliked tbh. I have only not liked the Doctors companions like Amy Pond who i did like at first and towards the end when her story game to a conclusion with River Song but in-between her love angle got stale due to it being overused with it sometimes feeling like it went back and forth doing the same things.

To me Matt Smith is a million times better than David simply because i do enjoy the quirky Doctors a hell of a lot more . I will only enjoy the movie if it is a continuation of the films or done by a quirky actor honestly because i fear they would attempt to make it way to action packed.

A rebot of Dr. Who is just wrong in so many levels, even more after they "continued" the old series' background with the new one, referencing the old doctors, their enemies and their companions whenever they could.

The movie will be shit. An aberration.

For those who have watched seasons 5 & 6:

Do you think they feel a bit "disconnected" from the previous seasons? I'm not talking just about the style, but the overall themes. Except the angels, River Song and a random ood, they haven't brought any old themes.

I don't know, I want some kind of cameo by the catkind, UNIT, Jenny, Jack Harkness, Martha Jones, Christina de Souza, Future/Past Torchwood or any other previous character. There were some poor episodes, where they could have used monsters from Torchwood or Sarah Janes Adventures, or just minor ones like the Tritovore or the Sycorax.

Well, for Season 7, I would like to see:
-Catkind on New Earth or somewhere else. I think they're pretty cool, and already a classic alien from the new series, like the ood.
-Jenny, doing anything, I don't care, but I want her to return.
-River Song on her penultimate journey (where the Doctor criesand gives her his sonic screwdriver).
-Rutans (enemies of the Sontaran, fighting each other since millenia), it's about time they appear.
-New Daleks, we saw them come to life but they haven't moved yet.
-Martha and Mickey, kicking some ass. I want this since "Vale Decem".

They will use a new doctor pulled out from their asses.

So yeah, worst movie ever.

Worst movie ever goes to Buried and ever will until someone litterally charges you money to stare at a black wall for two hours.

I was happy it felt disconnected myself and only had cameo's of previous enemies that have always been used constantly it will make them seem abit more fresh once they use them once more.

So, I just watched Torchwood Series 4, Miracle Day. Pretty awesome at the beginning, but the end... er, it just felt weird. Kinda like "Impossible Planet + The Pit of Satan", where the first part is goddamn awesome, but you get slightly disappointed when the final enemy's face is revealed.

I mean, The Blessing was just one of the biggest "WHAT THE HECK?!" I ever had with the Doctor Who universe. It was just weird as hell.

The pace and storytelling felt simillar to the revamped 2009 V series, which I loved (Hope they make a 3rd season for that and a 5th for Torchwood :S).

The only thing I disliked about TW4 was The Blessing's "shape" and how it seemed to conflict with DW5 2011. TW and DW always kept continuity balanced, but it's not too clear anyway when TW4 is happening.

Except it feels too disconnected, when they are brought back it will feel awkward.

I really hope they bring some of those during Series 7.

I read a short summary and I was like... whatever. Gotta watch it to see if it's cool or not.

Last year's was simply fantastic, and it's going to be hard to beat it.

Edit (Previous message deleted to avoid doublepost, content follows):

So, watched the 2011 Christmas Special. Was pretty emotive, and I liked it a lot. Still not better than Christmas Carol, though .

I highly dislike Amy though. Two seasons and she still does not feel right. Admittedly, she is hot, but that shocked expression she gets ALL THE DAMN TIME makes me want to punch her in the face.

That face. Right there. PUNCH.

AND SHE BREATHES SO LOUD. URGH.

It took Rose a full season before I liked her.

Not quite sure how I feel about River. It seems like too much of a pigeon hole for her to be in the mix. Don't ask why.
I like Amy but.................don't worry! She'll be gone soon!

i looove amy and her stupid angry badger look but i hate rose. really i was happy once she was gone.

i also like the 11th more than the 10th. Maybe coz i started with him but i think the 11th has more range. He can be raggedy, funny, hilarious, confusing and menacing. While to me the 10th only had different variations of brooding. Even when the 10th was smiling or making funny faces i though: the 11th only needs to grin to achieve the same results.

anyway: i can't wait for the new season. the christmas special was kinda lackluster.

Kinda lackluster... it was horrible from about a minute in. It started off great with the standard christmas special ending of the doctor blowing up a spaceship threatening earth and then became instantly stupid with "The doctor in space!". The whole episode spiraled down hill from there... it was just really badly written and violated much of the shows (and realities) established principal logic.

Unrelated, but Rusell T Davies is making a new series, called:

WIZARDS VS ALIENS

Yup, I already gave him all my money.

Not so sure about that, they had the perfect opportunity to stop with Amy last season and they chose not to.

*shake fist* Moffat!!!

I like Amy and Rory. They're not as fun as Donna, but I think they have a lot more personality than Rose or Martha. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a new companion though.

Aaaaah god goosebumps right now season 4 arrived today early in the morning (6am to be exact, didn't know my post office delivers that early. Usually i have to collect my amazon stuff from the station because the fucking idiots come when everyone's at work) and i'm right now in the middle of "Silence in the library". I've stopped the dvd just a moment ago to prolong this moment of joy... i got into Doctor Who mainly because of the Last Angry Geeks reviews of season 6 so i am quiet used to Matt Smith's theme music... only to just have heard it the first time ever in the scene where the Doctor tells the girl (i presume it's the Library's computer core) that reality is not real.
This is so fucking epic i can't describe how much i love that series.

Well I just watched an episode with Weeping Angels, and then went to brush my teeth in a bathroom with flickering lights... I must admit my eyes wandered to the mirror then and again.
