1) So the Aiur Tal'darim were not real Tal'darim, but since Raynor wouldn't know that we didn't have to either!

2) Swann actually invented the Thor, and then the Dominion got them. Got it. Weird.

3) Why was that zergling (Scar, right?) feral? If I remember right, there was no reason for it not to be hiveminded.

4) The two teams working at cross-purposes and then combining their work is weird.

Random chance/genetics, I would wager, depending on how the hivemind works.

The Alliance's three rules on faction conflict:
1) You can't win.
2) You can't break even.
3) You can't leave the game.

Some more shit. I don't have time to write a snarky synopsis, I'm afraid.

#1, The Protoss know that Earth is out there but they don't give a shit. The zerg are probably aware, but the swarm has enough going on in their own area of the galaxy.

#2, Tassadar and the Overmind are not one. They were one psionically for a few seconds when they crashed, and it takes the overmind a while for it to die.
Zeratul may or may not have been speaking to the "ghost" of Tassadar in WoL.

#3, The Queen of Blades made the Brood queens because more than one leader is a good advantage other than one overmind/QoB.

#4 Embarrassingly nerdy Protoss mind question....
The protoss are smart. They develop and maintain the crystals and ships, and think on a different level than humans, which is why humans don't understand them.

#5 The zerg are good at swarming planets but not good at keeping them. the QoB pulled most of them back to Char. The protoss have a lot of planets, and Tarren want char because there is a lot of minerals on it.

Another.

They lost me at the part where they say they don't regret that the story suffered.

Some of the questions asked are funny. The Protoss intellect one made me lol. Isn't it pretty obvious that their logic and intelligence are different than humans?

This is still better than WoW's Ask CDev. They seem to be on the same page as the community, they just are sticking with their product. I don't quite agree, but they at least offer acknowledgment.

I agree with you. It probably is because despite the 10 years gap, SC still is younger than WC, it only has two games and didn't get the first two more or less retconned. Also the much, much smaller scope (which is funny because we're working with planets here)

I think it is more the tone of the responses.

Again, it's linked. Starcraft being a smaller and less developed universe, requieres less research on past works and more creative freedom to answer, which translates in a better "tone" in their answers too. WC lore on the other hand is huge and more tedious to work with because on one side there's stuff set on stone and stuff left way to vague on purpose so there's less freedom, not to mention the mega-anal fanbase.

That's how I see it at least

"It's interesting that you see a connection between Adun and Tassadar."

No, it's not. The parallels have been highlighted since the original vanilla Starcraft.

Not really anything of substance here. More reassertions of status quo, really.

Could it be possible that Blizzard would make Tassadar a reincarnation of Adun?

It could. I'm not so sure it should.

It would completely devalue everything that Tassadar did in the first game. It would make him another hollow plot device, like the damn Xel'Naga artifact.

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect that this will turn out to be the case. And it's going to be delivered as though it's some mind-blowing revelation. But if they do go through with it, it will only continue to harm the Starcraft story.

More.

Apparently, Raynor's disregard for the events of Brood War and his previously established characterization is because of character development.

Hmmm, another universe I could conquer...

I will make a note of this so-called 'Starcraft'.

It's better than Warcraft, unfortunately.

Also:

Question: Why does Tychus Findlay, who always smokes a cigar in his armor, never get choked?

Answer: I'd like to say it's because he's got special air-circulation pumps. But the truth is, he's just that tough.

I love that answer.

Number Twelve.

Blizzard spells out a plot development which apparently some of its audience found too subtle, demonstrating that they are in the right for dumbing down Starcraft's story.

Also, they answer a question which was actually pretty decent with an answer that's actually pretty decent, even if it is essentially "We may never know."

One, they had behemoths too before leviathans. They did the same thing, but behemoths couldn't fight.

Two, "The fact is, Zerg are unable to infest Protoss because of the incredible strength of Protoss psionics..." so they infested Kerrigan to counter that... oh wait, no they didn't.

Leviathans could be evolved Behemoths that can fight and open their own wormholes. The Behemoths may have just transported the other Zerg around.

It would be nice if that were clarified. Behemoths show up again in the Dark Templar Saga, so they were not forgotten.
