Lumber (War3) Let's go out(side)

I feel like we would benefit from a general outdoorsy stuff thread. Post your campsites, your vistas, your range days, your guns, your hunts, your forage, your outdoor sports things, whatever.
If there's any interest, I'll post pics of my gun collection. I'm also wanting to get into wreckchasing (or at least regular backpacking) after I move out of this state, too, so maybe I can post the equipment I've gathered so far for that.
Pic is where I used to go hiking years ago at my first base (that cluster of buildings back there is the base itself).

I was tempted to change your thread's icon. Glad to see that you changed it yourself.

Okay, I'll try to kick things off with my gun collection. I'm sure some of you remember my silly Thanksgiving family pictures in my "armory" (which is a horrible mess right now), but I have somewhat better pictures and more guns since then.
Anyway, let's start with the basics!
Top to bottom we have:
Early 1945 Springfield M1 Garand courtesy of CMP with a regular 10in Union Fork & Hoe Co bayonet
1893 Mosin-Nagant 91/30 Finn capture complete with [SA] and a ton of other stamps they did
Early-WWII Japanese Type 99 rifle with no mum, dust cover, or monopod but has anti-aircraft sights. Also have a matching early-war Type 30 bayonet. Both from Kokura Arsenal.
Karabiner 98k Yugo capture. It's a Preduzece 44 rifle, so it's mostly original. All I can tell was swapped out was the stock and magazine floorplate. Still has little Waffen Marks in a couple places. Attached is a bayonet I bought at an antique store when I was like 12. I think it's Belgian-made for export or something (no marks).

Next up, I kind of cobbled together a Chinese reproduction of a M1896 trench gun. The shotgun that the Germans tried to get banned as a war crime during WWI lel. It is useful for supercomfy home defense operations (pls ignore dirty mirror).

If you haven't noticed yet, yes, I have a thing for WWII guns. My latest purchase is my 1944 GM Inland Div M1 Carbine. I love this little thing. I think the sling might be original. The bayonet is a legit early Imperial with the leather still intact. Smells funny. I also threw a repro pouch on for authenticity.

I picked up a beater SKS not too long ago to function as a camp rifle. Then I realized I accidentally bought a pretty decent one. It's an early "Sino-Soviet" "letter gun" from Factory 26 with every single serial matching. Looks like it was issued at some point and used pretty heavily. Neat stuff. Bore actually looks brand new. I have a cheap surplus Chinese battle bra around somewhere, but don't have any pics of it.

Just a quick one, I have a little tiny Colt .25 mouse gun that my grandfather gave me. It is super adorable. I have yet to hit a goddamn thing with it. I think you have to be like 3 feet away from something to hit.

Moving on to more "practical" guns, I have a regular Springfield Armory M1A seen here with its siblings. It's the one on the bottom, obviously. I have a couple of neat accessories for it. Rifle grenades are fun (dummy, obviously).

The second gun I ever bought and the first pistol, my workhorse pre-B CZ85. If you look closely, the it was made the same year I was born. I didn't even realize that until maybe a year ago. I thought it was neat.

Onward and upward into practicality, we have my DDI milled Bulgarian part build with a Primary Arms microdot, your standard comfy butt pad, and Arsenal new AK47-style bayonet (better view here from before I put on the new muzzle brake and better mags). This is the rifle I bought my nice chest rig (dirty mirror again D: ) for. Interestingly, given the way the Bulgarian parts are, they were most likely built to fill the contract with the Iraqi Army a while back.

And even though I only had it for a matter of months, I feel like including this lil guy. Just a regular standard issue M4 with an Aimpoint. Bonus giggle switch pic. I actually have a decent amount of deployment pics I can probably post now, but they're not really related to this thread.

Now come on and post your stuff, nerds.

I took my kids to the neighborhood park today. Still sore, and the little guy went down early! I need to get walking shoes for myself so I can give my son wagon rides more often.

I was digging through some looking for pics and found this one of some nice woods that were maybe a 5 minute walk from where I lived for a bit in Michigan.

Speaking of parks, I forgot to take my dogs to the dog park today. :/ Maybe I'll go running with them or something instead.

Here's a few shots from Mexico last summer.

Around where I live, if you're feeling boy scouty and adventurous, you've got basically one of two eco-systems to choose from; fields and farmland for as long as the eye can see, or foresty hills. And coasts in all directions but north.

This is an example of the former type of landscape you'll come across. Wheat fields, farms and villages, as well as the awfully unimpressive skyline of parts of Malmö, and the bridge leading to Copenhagen in the distance. Warning; shield your eyes, the quality of the pictures aren't exactly top notch.

And the following picture would be an example of the latter, your foresty hilltop and ridges landscapes.

I don't really do outdoorsy stuff as much as I would've liked to. There's just the very rare afternoon walk out in some local woodsy area, or hanging out drinking with friends in the park on summer nights. Me and a group of friends used to do it pretty often back in school, go camping and drinking by some lake in the woods over the weekend, take a bike-ride to the coast and the beach, all kinds of fun. And I took a three-day walk in solitude once a couple of years back as well, going to this old viking ship burial thing. It was pretty dope.

I'm planning on going to Mexico this summer, too, actually. I'll have to see if there's some nice outdoorsy stuff where I can go and not get kidnapped/stabbed.

I may have lived 90% of my life elsewhere, but if there's a place I think of as "home" it's in the Adirondacks. Tupper lake to be specific.

Don't be a pussy. Mexico is fine if you're not an idiot. Mexico has amazing natural splendor in all corners. Beaches, mountains, high desert, dense jungles, waterfalls, hot springs, caverns, canyons, cliffs, rolling farmland. And tons of dope ruins in all those places.

Always taking all my posts so literally! I'll be going to Ensenada which isn't a bad area from what I hear.

I found a pic from when I passed through Norfolk, VA.

I got a black eye while drunk before and everyone wanted to make sure I wasn't being abused until it went away.
