Blizzard Blizzcon = New Game Announcement

http://money.cnn.com/2005/08/12/comm...lumn_quakecon/

Quote:
"We're going to be showing off a new product we haven't announced yet," said Wang. (And for those thinking it's the long-rumored unveiling of "Diablo 3" or "Starcraft 2," get ready for a letdown. Wang said the announcement will be linked to "World of Warcraft".)
In other words, they are announcing the WoW expansion. Kick ass.. wish I could go

Bah! I would have preferred it be starcraft 2. That game is looong overdue. Besides, they still have their hands full with the original WoW, why do an expansion. I realize they have their 1-year-after-release timeline for all their expansions, but us starcraft fans need some loving!

I haven't been following Blizz announcements that closely lately, but I have been checking back and have been surprised to not see any major rumors or announcements about the new game. Do we have any idea what the other studio is working on?

Darkmoon Card: Maelstrom

I'm putting my money on it being the WoW expansion, and it'll be named The Burning Crusade.

Yeah, I would also have preferred to see an SC2 . I dunno....for a thing called 'Blizzcon', I wish there'd be more stuff for other games besides WoW....as much as I love it .

I'm eagerly awaiting the day that they start a new series. Not that the current ones aren't bad or anything, but I'm just plain curious as to what they'd do.

i'd prefer sc2 also, i don't like rpgs as much as rts, i think sc2 would be a HUGE seller, probably around the amount of war3 sales

Please, anything but a WoW expansion. The dry spell for us non-mmo fans has been too long. I'd like another blizz game I can get excited about.

Knowing Blizzard they may just say stuff about the upcoming patch and play it off as new info.

Totally relevant thread necro.

1. It's amazing how long people waited for SC2.
2. It's amazing how long people have been waiting for Diablo 3.
3. Who the hell are those other two admins?
4. If we assume Pandaria is announced as the WoW expansion, and a Diablo 3 release date is given, and potentially a SC2 expansion release date is given, and, on top of that, details on Titan are given, this could be the biggest Blizzcon ever.

(hey, I can hope...)

There won't be anything on Titan this year. I think the earliest date (which was even then just randomly thrown out by Morhaine) is 2012 for info. They seem to like having 1 unveil be the focus of a Blizzcon as it is unless it's the 2010 Blizzcon which was a complete waste of a convention.

2010 was indeed a waste. I sincerely hope Blizzard learned that it's better not to have a convention at all than to put out a turd like that.

Blizz was apparently pretty close to not having Blizzcon 2010 but they decided to do it "for the fans", or at least, that's what they told me.

I can say that, while there wasn't much news at Blizzcon '10, I had a much better time conversing with Blizz staff and, personally, the "blizzchat live" roundtables they had were great fun and I made some long lasting friends there. I'm not sure I would've dropped all that money to go to California for them, but they were nice and I had a fun time. I'm guessing (hoping?) that they have a lot of news this year to compensate.

Yeah, I didn't really see 2010 from your point of view, so I guess I might be over-weighing the lack of news.

It's a pretty sure bet there will be big news this time around, though.

My main problem was that they made sure to raise the price of their tickets and all that for a show that they knew wasn't going to give anything new. Least this year there will be something but they raised the price once again and nor will I dish out 40 dollars for the stream when there are...other ways to watch it for free.

What did happen to these other admins? Did Cantus and Omacron have to kill these guys to take their place?
