Default Burning Steppes as a level 10-20 zone?

I've been wondering if this should have been the case for the Alliance, just as how Azshara was nerfed for the Horde. BS is even just north of Stormwind. Should whatever Alliance race that was in Cataclysm have gotten this as their own zone?

My own idea for this is that the naga would be the Alliance race, and that the Steppes would have been flooded by the Cataclysm. Not so that they'd be underwater, but enough that many of the Blackrock fortifications were washed away and the clan being much weaker.

This is a terrible idea... and I don't really feel I need to explain why. Mostly because it takes away the feel of the zone... and Naga there would just be... really... goofy.

Well, I did wonder about the ramifications of neutering the Blackrock Clan to such a low-level threat, but it'd be a convenient zone for the Alliance to have in balance with Azshara, and would remove complaints about the new Alliance race having so little a place in the lore. Or some of them, anyway.

The Thousand Needles is even more flooded, much of the Barrens is now jungle... the Cataclysm was, well, cataclysmic. But that was only an example. My first idea had red drakonids there.

It's not even a Blackrock Clan issue. I get it, I want playable naga as much as you do (of course I never see them in the Alliance) but Burning Steppes... really has no place for them. I understand your logic, the "Deathwing Scar" zone that Blackchar cave opened up into would have been considerably more rational as it was a landmass that existed on the coast (Before it was retconned out of existence in Cata at the last minute). Still, Burning Steppes would be forced... to an extreme level. Theres nothing there, even if the Naga established themselves heavily in that zone that could be related to the Naga... lore wise, aesthetic wise or principal wise. While the Goblins showing up in Azshara had new lore attributed, I can buy it, the naga... I struggle to grasp any sober reasoning to how one would fit them into the zones plot, history or relevance. Theres absolutely NOTHING in the zone that would do them any justice... at all... even with "Suddenly ocean and naga" as a plot hook.

Flood it with magma and make it a flamewaker zone as the main enemy...

Well, my original idea was to have naga be in the Horde and take Azshara, while Alliance-aligned red drakonids would show up in the... Searing Gorge at first, but then I changed my mind to the Burning Steppes. Probably I should keep it to my original idea in that case, with the Spear of Life (initial name for the drakonid group) attacking the black dragons in the area.
