On a whim I just spent a few minutes drawing a Rockfucker in paint, but having done it I'm now wondering if it might just be better to leave the thing's exact appearance up to the imagination.

Well, it's not like I won't be doing exactly that if I get to play.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Don't just roll in with a sea serpent army this time. I've heard tales of Ludditia.

I say we let Lon in, but in the context of being a local we hire/enslave to be our guide.

WarCraft 3 B.net Eyeball

My word, it's like you people have independent thought, or something. I leave for a few hours and when I come back suddenly development!

Also: It would seem that my plan to dictate the quantities of materials, the number of meals etc was ill-advised. You all seem to be dealing relatively well without any specific boundaries. My interactions and designations, then, will be less precise, but possibly rather more sadistic.

Remember: Losing is fun.

No dwarf named Urist? What a shame.

By the way, is Lon-ami still interested in playing the role of the Tuskarr?

Why not?

(I don't have sea dragons, but Oacha'noa will suffice )

Any rules I must know of?

PS: Can I direct the tourists to a sacrificial pit instead of their destination? they won't notice anyway.

If you can pull it off, sure. But some subtlety might be necessary now that you've spilled the proverbial beans.

I think we need to restart and change the core elements of the game. Your ultimate goal was to make it like dwarf fortress but I think limiting us to one character and making us share a hold keeps us from being able to do that.

Each player should start with a small hold with only a few "buildings," and we all surround a valley. Every day we get a post to make decisions on what we want to focus on. If we make poor decisions we get punished; only focusing on mining out the mountain for precious metals and forgoing building up a defense force for example could lead to unleashing faceless ones and then them slaughtering all of the dwarves.

Some aspect that I though could be neat would be building certain "buildings"(what do dwarves call their underground building anyways? Could lead to different specialization or fluff. I could build a dwarven church and train Paladins which would give me an overall stronger army. Someone else could build a magic university and have a slightly stronger military but also get more of an income from mining because of magical items , or be able to fight magical enemies with more ease.

Obviously I don't have everything figured out but you should think about it.

Erthad suggests that the next fortress be handled differently, and has decided not to post this round.

Because I respect his judgment and happen to agree, I killed him off for convenience's sake.

The rest of you are all screwed anyway, though.

Especially you, HalfElfDragon.

Mustrum, I get that you like the sadisticness of dwarf fortress, but you should understand that that doesn't fly in a roleplaying game where you're supposed to care about the characters, not for the actual players of the game.

If you want my suggestions from my experience on the Great War, here's a few; don't kill player characters without the consent of the players playing them, and don't ever just dismiss what a player writes as a hallucination.

This is a different type of game. I tried to make it clear that your characters were going to die, I tried to suggest that you not grow too attached to them. And I tried to make it clear that if you tried to break the game, like going back in time like Nozdormu did, or gluing on a hand that you lost, like you did, or using a hearthstone to gtfo, I would destroy you.

There'll be another round soon enough.

This isn't your average role-playing game. This is Let's All Get Our Throats Cut. It's experimental, but don't treat it like another game where you get saving throws and you live happily ever after.

You are going to die. The trick is to see how long you can survive, by doing things correctly, using sound judgment and not using magic powers to save yourself while simultaneously invoking the wrath of an angry god.

Then you shouldn't have had us have characters at all. Just Dwarf A, Dwarf B, etc. No biographies, no names. Inventing those kinds of things makes emotional connections inherent.

You see? Volkrin has the right idea. We can't have Dwarf A, Dwarf B, etc because such Dwarves would have no character. Volkrin is playing the game, and playing it well.

He might even survive.

Because you see...it's not about how rational or prudent your actions are...it's about how much they amuse me. A little crazy is good. If Nozdormu hadn't tried to cheat his way back into his arm, I think Killchrono might have lasted quite awhile. Be colorful and choose your own path. Just don't presume to write your own rules.

You should probably have mentioned that when I wrote in my bio that it was one of my characters inherent powers.
