Default Timolas' Touchdown: Captain Valonforth

I was informed Captain Valonfort made it to printing in the World of Warcraft: Arthas book. Thanks, Timolas for bringing it up.

At the last pages' book references index -- The Anub'arak pit lord mistake has been corrected on the upcoming printings. Now it will say Anub'arak the Crypt Lord.

I'm just hoping the chapter with Arthas revealing himself to be a transvestite, a la Buffalo Bill in "Silence of the Lambs" has been edited out.

I recall some writer said he/she checked Wowwiki frequently, anyone recall who this person was? I know this does sound abit out of topic but we need to rub this to someone's face like a true snubby asshole that we are!

How d'you do, I see you've met my faithful handyman
He's just a little brought down because when you knocked
He thought you were the candyman.
Don't get strung out by the way that I look,
Don't judge a book by its cover
I'm not much of a man by the light of day,
But by night I'm one hell of a lover

I'm just a Sweet Transvestite from Transexual, Transylvania.

So let me show you around, maybe play you a sound
You look like you're both pretty groovy
Or if you want something visual that's not too abysmal
We could take in an old Steve Reeves movie.

I'm glad we caught you at home, could we use your phone?
We're both in a bit of a hurry.
We'll just say where we are, then go back to the car
We don't want to be any worry.

So you got caught with a flat, well, how about that?
Well babies, don't you panic.
By the light of the night when it all seems alright
I'll get you a satanic mechanic.

I'm just a Sweet Transvestite from Transexual, Transylvania.

So why don't you stay for the night? Or maybe a bite?
I could show you my favourite obsession.
I've been making a man with blond hair and a tan
And he's good for relieving my tension

I'm just a Sweet Transvestite from Transexual, Transylvania.

So come up to the lab. And see what's on the slab.
I see you shiver with antici... pation!
But maybe the rain isn't really to blame
So I'll remove the cause, but not the symptom.

Aw, Medieval.

I just hope it was Valonforth in the book not Valonfort. Otherwise I'd high five you if I could, as usual.

Just ironic that the galley I won doesn't have him in it. I guess it just means I have a pristine limited edition version with Anub'arak as a pit lord.

So, wait.

Did they actually replace someone for Luc Valonforth, or they just named an unnamed character with his name?

Also, I hope Christie Golden approves this :S.

As for us...

TODAY, THE NOVEL.

Yes, she does. Medieval contacted her to mention the inconsistency with the two Captains' names, and she said that if she had known that it was Luc Valonforth it'd have been that way. The problem was that as usual the book was in the works before public game release.
Nonetheless, I think it just applies a name to 'one of the ship's captains' to clarify the issue.

That's what I wanted!

Fine .

Also, I'm proud of having this weapon of destruction at home. The citations you can create from Anub'Araks being a Pit Lord could destroy the world!!

I'm still interested in our live chat with lady Golden. Hope Med gives us a date, I would want to ask her her opinion about the small part of TFT she didn't write. I'm sure she could end writing that passage for the Arthas or Azjol-Nerub patch.

That would be truly awesome, men.

Just got delivery. It is a World of Warcraft: Arthas. It is hardcover. The front cover is printed on a semi-glossy paper that wraps around the hardcover. The hardcover itself is some kind of fabric material.

On page 170, it says: "They looked up as Arthas entered and saluted him. In answer to his unvoiced question, one captain, Luc Valonforth, said: "Apologies, milord. Your father had our troops recalled at Lord Uther's request. The expedition is cancelled."

There are two captains Farlic and Marwyn. However, this in particular was unnamed. It said it was one of the captains of the ships. So when Timolas talked about this Luc Valonforth -- I was curious.

I play Horde, so I didn't know this captain from Warcraft III had been named in Wrath of the Lich King with a questline to boot.

So I contacted Christie to let her know, and she said at the time the book was written, she didn't have access to this quest where he appears. But that if she had known the name, she would have added it.

I quoted her response to the book editor, gave her a link to the questline where Luc Valonforth replays the events of Warcraft III; and from there it went I guess through Blizzard. And now it is printed. I have the copy where Luc Valonforth appears in the book. Arrived 15 minutes ago.

Give me that high five, Med. Go on, I think we all need to put our feet back and have a good cup of coffee and let this unfold.

That's awesome.

Really awesome.

It would be cool if you can post the "old version" for those who don't have the book.

I would do it myself, but I'm leaving just right now.

And, uh, Med. Don't forget to show us pics of the book!

Valonforth isn't a canonnier of the artillery branch, but he was canonical since his quest debut. They just included him in the book to ensure that there was no confusion between him and Falric.

A) [insert tirade about CANON being different from cannons here]

B) He was in WoW before this, so he was canon already.
