Default LOTRO turns free to play...

...and gets an item store.

Yeah, since player numbers exploded after they turned D&D Online to Free-to-play they are also now doing it with LOTRO.

Of course they current player base totally hate the new concept, since they now fear kids invasions and cash cowing aka Runes of Magic in the realms of Middle Earth.

I lol at those that paid "forever" subscription.

/Onwed .

I blame Blizzard and the Celestial Steed; no, wait.

I blame the stupidity of the playerbase that made the move that is going to change pretty everything in how MMOs work.

Damn it.

If I were a developer, I would aim for a "you have subscription, you have better rates and better game experience and can create guilds and skip queues".

Selling non-vanity items will only make it go crap.

Well, Guild Wars 2 is going to be free, and that was the major selling point for me. Really, who wants to keep on paying for a game every month? I don't.

They should have instead made the frigging game-time cards easier to get ><
I loved playing lotro as long as I could, but I would have had to travel a good 100 km to get a frigging card as no store closer by sold them >_> (no, i have no creditcard, what sucks and other possibilities were out of question too)
