Orc Icon (War3) Cool about Azeroth ...

Azeroth is another name for the deamon Astarte and she was connected with fertility, sexuality, and war. Her symbols were among others the lion and the horse.

if its a coinsidence its really cool. Cuse Warcraft is hot pixel chicks and war and Azeroths banner is of the Lion and theres the brotherhood of the horse =)

Lumber (War3)

Assuming this is Norse mythology? The game features a ton of it. Examples:

Yggdrassil the World Tree vs. Nordrassil the World Tree
Tyr was the Norse god of war (Tyr's Hand)
"Thorium" named after the thundergod himself
etc.

Norse mythology was actually the origin of a lot of modern fantasy concepts such as Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and soforth. You'd be surprised especially how much Tolkein ripped off from Norse Mythology In particular there is some piece of Norse work with a bunch of Dwarven names listed in it. With the exception of one I believe (may be more) they are the names of the Dwarves featured in the Hobbit. The one exception of course is Gandalf

Gandalf (I read) was based on characteristics from both Odin and the Wizard, Merlin.

Yes, but there was a Dwarf in Norse mythology named Gandalf. There were also dwarves named Thorin, Fili, Kili, Dwalin, Balin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur. (edit: I guess Tolkien edited a couple of the names but they are all basically there)

Hehe..

Also hehe:

http://www.timelessmyths.com/norse/aesir.html#Magni

I did not know about that one. Just stumbled on it

Also, this may just be a coincidence:

But LOL.. I think his name did come from the literal meaning (Thrall = slave) but that's funny. Probably where that word originated.
