I think the leaked memo called it.

I'm waiting for all the haters to come in and apologize to Boubouille.

Suppose the next question is what exactly "Titan" is. I would imagine it would have a sci-fi theme (though I would prefer fantasy). Will be interesting to see all the inovations they have incorporated into WoW be implemented at release.

It could just be a project codename at this point, meaning the name is not necessarily indicative of its genre.

Clearly, it's going to be a superhero MMO:

You know what is a sure way to tell if a leak is real? Ask me. If I'm certain it's load of bullshit, it means it's real.

People were calling it Titan before the "schedule leak". Boubouille included. I didn't seem anyone knocking him because there was something titled Titan on the schedule.

I'm guessing "Titan" is a lot like "Hydra", which ended up being the development name for Diablo III.

I can let you in on an interesting story, now, though. If any of you follow wow.com/wowinsider, you remember how this April their joke was that they'd keep changing the theme of the site? I think it was "hello kitty online insider" then "lady gaga insider" and then finally they said that they were restructuring the site to be about Blizzard's unreleased next MMO, which they claimed was called "Saturn Six"?

Now you tell me, what's the name of Saturn's sixth moon?

You might want me to say Titan, but Titan is the largest moon, and I know that there are more than five moons between it and Saturn. I'm not sure how they are numbered. Wikipedia says Epimetheus and Janus are its sixth moons.

Well then either me or my friend on the WoW.com editorial staff failed astrophysics (which is ironic because I just took my astrophysics final yesterday).

What's there to apologize for? He didn't break the news, he didn't claim any of it as fact this time, and he didn't 100% guarantee anything about it. Boub did it right this time. He said "Hey, here's something interesting from the Internet. Check it out." So for once, Boub gets a gold star from me for showing actual journalistic integrity. I still think he's a total tool and I still don't like him.

This was discussed a bit on "The Big Ol' Cataclysm Beta Thread" but has anyone else read the rumors that Blizzard Entertainment might be making an MMOFPS set in the Halo franchise?

I think I remember some confusion stemming from the fact that Bungie had a canceled TPS (third person shooter) and they're working with Activision on something, but AFAIK, not blizzard.

I'd be pleasantly surprised... mostly because a company I work with did the Halo tie ins and that'd put me one step closer to striking at the heart of CDev.

Here is a link to small summary of the rumor, just for the sake of sources.

I don't think so and I hope not. Blizzard did say that it was an entirely new IP multiple times and Microsoft, not Bungie, owns the Halo IP.

And, still, there were people, who insulted him, again.

I think you're looking too much into it.

He just referred to his project as titan, because it’s being referenced by fans as titan. It’s not like he said “yeah, our project, which is named titan”. He said “yeah, that titan, it’s our project”.

And even if I’m wrong and it’s just its codename, past have shown us codenames mean nothing at all (South Seas and Hydra anyone? those ended up being WotLK and Diablo 3).

Keep in mind, Blizzard also said they're not working on StarCraft II. Or Diablo III. Yeah, just soon before their announcement.
I'm not saying it's Halo, all I'm saying is it can be related to, say, StarCraft. Just think how freakin awesome would MMOFPS in StarCraft be. Make it also a bit Battlefront, so we can replay some past battles of the universe, and new hit guaranteed.

They said it's not going to be about Warcraft/Diablo/StarCraft, so it's either a new franchise or the return of an old one (like Blackthorne).

I think it's going to be a FPS yes or yes, but how they handle it, say CoD or SWBF2, I don't know.

Of course, a Star Wars Battlefront 2 MMO would be simply awesome.

WarCraft 3 B.net Eyeball

I am a little confused.

-Project Titan = Halo MMO , back in 07 developed by Ensemble studios.

-Bungie moves to Activision-Blizzard.

-Project Titan springs up again.

I know Microsoft owns all rights to Halo but....

Well, there are rumors (that I wont and cannot comment on) that "Titan" would be an MMOFPS. Maybe Activlizzard kept the source code from the halo game and refined it?
