Default Kel'thuzad Lives!!

http://www.worldofraids.com/v2/?page=quests&rub=kelth

A quest posted on worldofraids.com has given us a slight sigh of relief in the lore department. Simply put, you turn in Kel's phylactery to the Argent Dawn, as opposed to outright destroying it and keeping him from ever reforming into his old self. Not exactly the smartest decision by any means, but at least we're not seeing a major player in the Scourge die outright.

This also brings up the question, "Who would be stupid enough in the Argent Dawn not to destroy the Phylactery?"

"Do not rejoice. Your victory is a hollow one. For I shall return with powers beyond your imagining!" Bwahahahahaha!

But what really happens for the player to make that decision?

Is that "voice of reason" Kel´thuzad?

I think it's the Lich King, word to the wise. Or it could be Kel.

Thanks for reposting a better link, I was sad when the picture died in my post about Kel.

The Lich King would also make sense, we hear him a couple of times in Naxxramas so he knows what´s going on in there.

Hmm...Who would be stupid enough to NOT destroy the phylactery? How much does someone wanna bet that the Brotherhood of Light takes it. And then who wants to bet that the Brotherhood of Light has some connections to the Scourge? >.>

Who would be stupid enough not to destroy the Soulstone of Diablo after killing him, I mean it's not like you're going to shove the thing into your own damn forhead....right?

There is one slight possible logic behind not doing so. Of all Scourge, Liches are probably more closely linked to the mind of the Lich King than most of the undead slaves. The near-equivalent of capturing a Lich might someday potentially be utilized to cause harm to the Lich King through that very link. Especially since it's unlikely mundane weaponry and most magic could even reach him to cause such harm(unless wielded by a raid of lvl 100 players wearing full epic gear..."sigh" ). However, assuming that the Lich King can't just be hacked down or fried with everyday firebolts, it would kinda make sense that the Argen Dawn would be constantly looking for less direct means of striking at the Scourge beyond the usual chopping through the rank-and-file subordinates toward the top of the chain of command which, realistically, might not ever work.

(We do know the anti-Scourge factions are getting increasingly desperate. Though I'd like to know why they sent the current batch of whiners to Light's Hope Chapel when Naxxramas arrived. Seems like their main purpose in their respective organizations is to sit around eating roast boar and bemoaning the futility of fighting the Scourge. Especially the Scarlet Crusader at the table. For a religious zealot, she's awfully fast to admit that their efforts are becoming a waste of time in the face of the newest Scourge offensive. Gee, way to show your steadfast faith in the Light, lady ).

What I find odd is that Kel'thuzad says he will be back, but I doubt he expected the heroes to be so greedy and corrupt. Or maybe he did know they were a bunch of idiots.

The whole phylacery quest thing reminds me of Lotr where Elrond is screaming at Isildur to destroy the ring.
"Destroy it!"

That reminds me of the Puppet Show in "The One Ring to Rule Them All 2"

"We must destroy the ring, mister Ander... I mean Isildur."
"How about no! Whahahaha!"

My god! If Warlocks were not bad enough...

I just read the information of the new Warlock ability Seed of Corruption.

Seed of Corruption
Rank 1
Requires Level 70
30 yd range
882 Mana
2.000 sec cast
Imbeds a demon seed in the enemy target, causing 1044 Shadow damage over 18 sec. When the target takes 1044 total damage, the seed will inflict 1110-1291 Shadow damage to all enemies within 15 yards of the target.

You will need to have a Priest or Paladin on cleanse/dispell duty all the time because a few warlock popping this on people in AV groups is going to hurt like hell if they don't get removed in 18 seconds.

Also it looks like Priests will be getting an offensive Feign Death.

Shadow Burst
Requires Level 50
5 yd range
380 Mana
Instant cast
Let forth a burst of energy knocking all nearby enemies back, dealing 160-241 Shadow damage and removing all threat.

If Shadow Burst can make NPCs fall off cliffs I'll positively wet myself with delight... although I don't play a priest.
I mean the coolest part of WoW for me is mind controlling things to kill themselves! In UBRS the guards at the bridge being told to jump off the bridge is funny and awesome.

Lets all hail Xaran (i really think it was him, even if Kenzuki says no).

But now the true question: What are "Important Story Characters"? Is Ragnaros one? Is C'Thun one? Is Rend Blackhand one?

Good question; I'd consider those to be.
Don't forget Hogger. He is my idol of badassness.

Any others?

So, you're saying that Kel'Thuzad, the only "Before WoW seen" raid boss in WoW, will stay alive. And thats all that Metzens Statement says to us?

Do not listen to him, he's the same guy who really killed all the Jedi in Star Wars, and made Sauron his ring in the first place, and put the Lich King in an ice cube.

If you strain your eyes hard enough, his name even appears to you as Kil'yaeben.

EDIT: AW MAI GAWD MY RANK IM SO L33T!
