Edit: I just saw a dialogue option 8 minutes in, but it only had two choices. I'm seeing a disturbingly high amount of "automatic" dialogue from Shepard. Hopefully that's just because it's in beta. Edit 2: I will say that I'm impressed with the cinematic quality of the game, even in its obvious beta stage. Watching that Reaper one-shot a Dreadnought was awesome. Edit 3: Just finished the video, and although I'm still concerned over the lack of dialogue choice, I'm pretty sure that's due to the fact that it's a rough beta. (I think it actually predates E3) Overall it looks like its definitely a worthy successor to ME2 and if Bioware can keep up the momentum displayed in the intro it's an obvious major candidate for Game of the Year 2012 and a likely entrant into the golden annals of gaming history.

Haven't seen the video, nor do I plan to. Gonna avoid ME stuff like the plague until it gets a discount or is on sale.

Always neat seeing how games look in early dev and you see the amount of work they really do go through to detail everything.

Actually seems this is a newer build than what was shown at E3 considering dialogue was added to the one part.

Still, it is just nice to see things like this. Heck, at Blizzcon they showed some of the very first builds of starcraft 2 in the sc2 art panel, and I LOVED to see that.

Actually they added dialogue to it and it was just as polished so it probably was a newer build. Also the scene at the end with the kid and the reaper destroying those 2 ships really does give a good idea of the type of feel they are going for with this game. If they manage that with a lot of choices you make then they really will capture the emotional feel of what's happening.

I agree that they probably just haven't added all the dialogue options in yet. At one point in the video he is talking to Ashley and Anderson mentions "Alenko". I am guessing that was a mistake or there is another Alenko besides Kaidan.
I don't know if anyone else also clicked through to the next one, but you can also see the beta of the mission to save the Krogan female: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH67x4422Dc And there's another video for the co-op mode by the same user.

I'm not watching any of the beta stuff. Promo material I'm fine with because a lot of it doesn't spoil story progression. Normally I'd be totally keen for leaks, but I love ME too much to want it spoiled; I want to immerse myself in the story without going 'oh I know what happens here.'

All of the stuff from the Beta is the stuff they've been showing at various conventions, just a little bit expanded. It starts a bit before the sequence where you escape Seacouver with Admiral Anderson.

Did anyone choose Morinth by the way?

I did on my second play-through for kicks.
The one little dialogue between her and Grunt on Tuchanka is amusing.

Let's see, Intergalactic Stripper Queen and her Boobs of Justice or the Spacefaring Hipster Succubus with her Soul Stealing Pretentiousness?
Hard choice, that.

Pretty sure there's no reason story-wise to pick Morinth unless you're playing the most Chaotic Stupid of renegades.
Gameplay-wise it's sort of justified in that you can get Dominate, but even then I think Reave is better and more versatile, personally.

Story-wise, the only way you could justify it is if your character absolutely hated Samara for whatever reason or if you fell for Morinth's lies.

Even my shep, who's defined by being an asshole, didn't pick Morinth. Half because he's just not sexually attracted to filthy Xenos, half because the last thing he needs is someone who could mind control him and undermine his authority. Jack was bad enough.

Admittedly, it's a tad unsettling when you hear Samara say, "Embrace Eternity!" and "Your life is mine!" as she's using Reave.

I reckon they should have driven the whole 'Samara is going to kill renegade Shep' thing harder to make Morinth look like a more compelling ally for renegades. She's a renegade-slanted character begin with, so that would have been a good angle to take. True, but it's still not as bad as raping their mind and forcing them to act against their will.

I was planning on having my Shep justify it by thinking that Morinth was more powerful than Samara, which could help them survive the suicide mission. He figured having an Ardat-Yakshi about was a worthy trade-off for survival and if they failed then it wouldn't make a difference.
Of course, he didn't have enough Renegade at the time I tried, so the point as moot. |

My renegade KNEW that Samara was going to go get her the minute her oath was over, so when the chance to get a replacement presented itself it was hard not to take it.
The fact that Morinth died on the collector base was just all part of Sara`s masterplan (as did all the cerberus goons)

I wonder, if Samara does go after your RenShep in ME3 if it'll be based on simply which score is higher or specific choices you make.
My shep's a paragade- an asshole to everyone he meets but one who makes the right decisions. I wonder if she'll come after him simply because of his numeric score. The only real "bad" things he's done is execute criminals, which is what Samara did as well. |

On my main shep, she's full Paragon but about 50% Renegade as well. (Basically the same as yours, right decisions but has a short temper and is a bit of a hard-ass when it comes to certain things.) It would kinda suck if Samara came after you just because you're a bit of an asshole, even if you didn't force her to do anything morally bankrupt.

You don't want a pissed off Justicar after you when your Shepard makes a morally bankrupt choice later on.
