WarCraft II: Tides of Darkness / Beyond the Dark Portal The hit sequel to WarCraft: Orcs & Humans was released towards the end of 1995. This game was considered revolutionary for some of its' RTS firsts such as Fog of War.

WarCraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans Once this was to be the semi-sequel to WarCraft II. Unlike WarCraft II however, it was not a RTS game but a graphical adventure. However, after several years in development, the game was cancelled on May 22nd 1998 due to unfixable problems and general poor quality that did not meet Blizzard standards.

WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos This much-anticipated followup to WarCraft II was finally announced at ECTS 2000. Originally featuring a much different style of gameplay (resembling the later World of WarCraft a bit more than the final WarCraft 3) and a close-up camera angle, this idea was scrapped for a more traditional style of RTS (and likely so it wouldn't overlap WoW quite so much). Released on July 3rd, 2002 this title is still going strong.

Introducing new heroes and units, new landscapes and a whole new storyline, this expansion sets the stage for the later World of WarCraft.

World of WarCraft Blizzard's first foray into the MMORPG field started with World of WarCraft, announced at ECTS 2001, was finally released on November 23rd, 2004. Despite early hiccups due to unforseen demand, the game has taken off as one of the fastest selling MMORPGs of all time.
