Scrolls of Lore Playlist no. 17

Alright dudes and dudettes it's been a while but here we are. This playlist will be a regular one without any theme or special rules, any song goes.

For those of you who don't know what this SoL custom is about, you pick three good songs and you send them to me via private message (ideally send youtube links, since we will use youtube and it avoids confusion over song version), then those songs are mixed into a playlist we can all enjoy. It's a good way to figure out new music, see people's musical tastes and experience the overall sound of SoL. However there is more, since no one knows who sent what, there is a guessing game to figure that out. This is just a fun side thing for those interested so no pressure. In the end people usually reveal their choices. I will keep score of guesses and revealed songs.

The playlist will go up on Sunday the 22th most likely, you can send your songs before that time. That's it, I await your music ;)

And here she is:

Sent mine.

Ma Caque Attaque 10-12-2017 05:09 PM

You have my attention.

And now I have yours...

Aneurysm 10-15-2017 05:13 AM

You'll have my batch of songs by the end of this weekend, or early next week!

Ninja bump!

Songs have been sent.

Shaman 10-15-2017 07:07 PM

Submitted my three - they're all songs from the same American city/era :)

Malygos 10-16-2017 08:40 PM

Fight on!

Kellick 10-18-2017 09:50 AM

Hot diggity-dang. Gotta get me a playlist to send.

I've got two lined up, but I'm struggling to find an appropriate third (I know we don't need to have a unifying theme, but I like to include some kind of thread connecting the three). Rest assured, my contribution shall be submitted before too long! :D

C9H20 10-21-2017 02:41 AM

We are entering the finish line here, the playlist goes up tomorrow evening so now is the time to send or stay forever silent :P

Krainz 10-22-2017 06:23 PM

Oh, crap! I've been busy with some stuff so I haven't been checking SoL that much and completely missed this one :(

Royalpimp 10-22-2017 06:42 PM

Kirsten Dunst - Turning Japanese => Nazja

Same song, but Annie, whose corruption I blame on Loki-lion.

Send your songs if you want, obv. guessing them will not count but this is not a competitive playlist anyway and the more the merrier is very much the case here.

Nein.

Turning Japanese performed by anyone besides the Vapors? absolutelybarbaric.jpeg

I'm legitimately offended.

Will check out the playlist and throw out a few guesses once I get home today.

Nazja 10-23-2017 05:48 AM

Was it suspect number 1, KLR Mänky, then?

Royalpimp 10-23-2017 06:21 AM

Caravan Palace-Lone Digger => Nazja!
Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son => Sarahmoo

Aneurysm 10-23-2017 06:51 AM

That garagey indie tune Juliette by the Hollerado was dope. Dope enough for me to look up the band for more songs, and seeing they were Canadian, leading me to throw out a guess that it's one of Kellick's.

And Shammy being all folky and such could very well have added The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot. But then again, maybe not.

Halfway through the list now. And it's not too shabby.

Small hint for those guessing:
There's a theme connecting my songs.

Aneurysm 10-23-2017 09:44 AM

I don't know why, but I feel Nonane is a sucker for cheesy 80's pop music, and that Slave To Love by Bryan Ferry is a song of his choosing.

And Torch I know is a sucker for Marillion, so I'll guess that he added their song.

And could Malygos have added the nerdy Legends Never Die League of Legends song? I dunno, he has submitted video game songs in the past, right?

I just want to grab that lead Nazja always holds, if only for a moment.

1) I do like 80s pop but not this time.

2) Yeah Torch and Marillion is a sure bet as always. So much so I think Nazja feels bad to guess it right away :D

3) Yes.

Congratz on taking the lead, but now you gotta fight to keep it because challenge only makes Nazja guess harder.

It's like blood in the water.

(And yeah, I feel bad about Torch's easiest songs. :D)

C9H20 10-23-2017 01:47 PM

A lot of good songs on this one but I am enjoying Turning Japanese the most. I think I might have mentioned it before but I am not really up for heavy or dark songs these days, mostly up for cheery stuff.

If you say so. I can try to scrape in a few more points.

Alright then, so if Shaman's not going the folky route, she's going old-school. Real old-school. Like the My Indian Red by Danny Barker-type of old-school.

And if not 80's pop this time, what about 70's glam? Are you a glam guy, Nonane? I'm thinking of Ballroom Blitz.
