I'm afraid I can only think of comedies. The Freshman is a silent movie, but is bar none the funniest college film I've ever seen. It's aged pretty well.

In fact, it's passed out of the public domain and is freely available on YouTube.

Seriously, watch it!

Back to School is also an amusing film, though it's kind of paint-by-numbers. The Kurt Vonnegut Jr. cameo is great, however.

For serious movies, there's Paper Chase, which is good but not really exceptional.
