![]() When the 'object' came down in Central Park[1], no one knew what to make of it. As the greatest Xenothaumacist with security clearance (also, the only Xenothaumacist with security clearance) you were called in to investigate. The device was clearly non-local in origin. Using your vast experience with pre-theoretical devices, you quickly deduce the device to be a Recovery Anchor[2]. These devices will one day be used by the Solar Space Administration to recover lost extra-terran infrastructure, though they sadly cannot recover any living sentient creatures that inhabit that infrastructure[3].
Though it has been disconnected from the Martian energy net, the device still carries enough of a charge for a single recovery... Sadly, your targets are kinda limited since you don't actually know what the Solar system looks like in the Future (is it still inhabited by humans?), so the only targets you know are the ones in the router log of the recovery anchor. Do you dare use it? And what would you use it on? [1] The one in Ottowa, not the one in New York. [2] Trademark PresentCorp, 2378-2556. [3] Well, they superposition of can and can't. Just accept that what happens if you try is neither pleasant nor covered by your current insurance. Last edited by ijffdrie; 06-09-2017 at 06:45 PM.. |

![]() As a level-headed citizen and patriotic fellow (by the by, it's Ottawa, not Ottowa), I do the only responsible thing, and inform the federal authorities, as such happenings within the NAC would entail responsibilities falling onto the municipal, provincial and federal governments.

![]() So many considerations to make. Do we want to isolate and thereby anticipate the predations of extraterrestrial barbarians? If so, which will give us the best shot of defending ourselves? On the other hand, a luxury satellite does sound appealing. And a chance to revive Disco sounds so deliciously evil...

Based purely on the names, I'm guessing that the Global Oil platform, the gated community satellite, the echolocation station and the colony dome are the most self-sufficient. Echolocation is kinda useless. I went with the luxury gated community, though mostly with the hope that it would have some high-quality civilian spacecraft. I'm not sure what the tech distribution in the future is, but I gamble on quality over quantity. Last edited by ijffdrie; 06-10-2017 at 07:45 PM.. |
