![]() Seeing as how the floodgates have been opened and all usable old gear is now useful again, I think it would be a good idea for people to show others nifty looking items that they might not be aware of! I'll start off.
1. Headless Horseman gear! While his actual armor is unavailable, his helm, mount and blade are all accessible. If you combine it with some Naxxramas gear and provided your character isn't a ridiculous race(Hello Tauren and Draenei!), you should be able to make a pretty convincing Horseman! Plus the helmet has the cackling laugh and the blade summons those pumpkins(note: get the pumpkin pet too!) ![]() 2. The Sun Eater! This is probably one of the most iconic weapons in the game and I know a lot of TBC tanks that have a soft spot for this sword(mainly because of the feeling they got when it finally dropped for them). From the Mechanar HC, easily done by LV85s but the drop isn't guaranteed. ![]() 3. Chain of the Scarlet Crusade! Another iconic set from Classic. Some people still use it already for roleplaying, but soon the set should be just as viable as any other gear. I'm sure there'll be a few Paladins farming Scarlet Monastary to get it. All of the items drop from SM trash (except the leggings which you can get from Herod and the Highlord). While the tabard is not officially part of the set, it goes great with it too. ![]() |

![]() This is what I'm thinking for my Prot Paladin:
Full Tier 4 (Sans helm... its ugly as sin) Quel'serrar (in the bank) Shield of Impenetrable Darkness (in the bank) I'm still undecided on the helm and cloak. All helms seem to look retarded on blood elves. |

![]() The armor class limitations really take a lot of fun out of this. Understandable restriction, but I dress my night elf hunter in a combination of Wastewalker and Desolation dungeon sets.
My Druid will probably be in Nordrassil + Pillar of Ferocity. My Paladin will probably be in Justicar + Aldori Legacy Defender + 1H something, but not sure what to farm. My Hunter already has full Desolation. Mage has the red Arcanist reskin. Shaman has the Elements D0 set, but now I need to find some mail feathered shoudlers. Priest has t1 + Benediction. Death Knight will probably be in Blue Lightforge... Rogue, Warrior and Warlock will need suggestions. |

![]() I wonder if you can place a main hand only over an offhand only?

![]() Getting T6 for my shaman so quick. Actually, T6 is probably one of the best sets for a lot of classes. Not sure what druid I'd want on my main and probably will just see which one looks best on a worgen (probably T6).

![]() I kind of like T9 for Worgen Druids. T6 is built for Tauren, and nearly all other sets are Night Elven in style. T4 and T11 is nice too.

![]() My DK is getting his starter greens pasted over everything, my mage is gonna rock t4 again, my rogue gets to jump back into t5, my warrior shall farm t6 and lay waste with a pair of Unstoppable Forces, and my shammy is going to be gathering his t4 set. I am actually pretty pumped for all that farming.

![]() Well, I normally don't show helms since I like to see my characters' faces and hair, but I would like to have an eyepatch of some type for my Shaman or some type of helm that doesn't obscure my character's head.
so I did come across one nice alternative: the Fiery Beholder Eye http://www.wowhead.com/item=31218 A rare spawn in SMV drops it and has a chance to drop one of each armor type (even a plate one). or the Crown of Destruction would be nice as well http://www.wowhead.com/item=18817 |

![]() It's emphatically Alliance, with Human-syle pockets and doodads. I'm not arguing that it's boring, just that its Alliance leanings appeal for a Gilnean Druid. I kind of like its genericness.
My personal taste says no to the overwrought designs we've grown accustomed to. There's been no good Hunter set, IMO... aside from nonset epics you find in Naxx and Kara. |

![]() Ohhhhh so many possibilities...
First I need to collect all the cataclysm gear sets. Then I need to go through TBC for rare weapon design drops. Then I'll skim wotlk for the diamonds in the rough... Then a crafting binge to produce all the good/rare items... I think oldworld raiding could become a legitimate guild focus now. EDIT: Hm, say what you will about ToC but I think the faction specific gear in there is good stuff. I also want to draw attention to this... http://www.wowhead.com/item=55904/th...hots:id=193820

![]() I'm actually a big fan of the Tier 6 for Druids - and turning the helmet off for my Worgen.
Weapon oddities: A number of staves appear as scythes in game. Bear mugs are maces. Fish are daggers (as pointed out already) Weaponsmiths could reuse their multi-upgraded weapons from TBC again. The Bulwark for shields. There was that one-handed sword from Wrath that was the Two-handed sword graphic from Blackwing Lair. The Kobold Candle is an Offhand with stats, though there are a lot of impressive offhands IMO. All of the faction vendors in the game sell the cloaks, notably even the reward gnome/troll cloaks. And the dudes there are wearing some classy items I desperately want. EDIT: http://www.wowhead.com/item=6205 a shovel. And the early portions of the Shadowmourne (Shadow's Edge) are not legendary. Finally, the Corrupted Ashbringer is NOT a legendary (nor accessible, admittedly). ![]() Last edited by Shanic; 08-17-2011 at 01:38 PM.. |

![]() Just a mild curiosity... will you need to pre-own the items you want the new gear to 'become' ?
So far I have item sets visualized for 3/4 of my characters based on gear I have and some I do not.... warrior in T6 for example. Just want to know if I should be raiding BT and Hyjal again ![]()
