I like the one on the left.

Sadly, we don't actually celebrate halloween in my country, instead having the vastly inferior Saint Martin. Thus, I have no pumpkins to share.

I don't do Halloween.

It is not a thing in my country, or at least it wasn't. Seems to be creeping in lately though, Goddamn globalization.

EDIT: I mean, I like some effects of Globalization but I dislike mindless and completely unnecessary taking on of foreign cultural customs. And yes, I am a grumpy old 23-yo.

I do Halloween and love to carve pumpkins but sadly I live in a sketchy neighborhood where I've learned not to carve from my neighbors misfortunes. I did decorate work and make my costume though. Ill post some pics of that later if you want.

I don't like Halloween because now German children expect candy twice a year. Should be happy they already get candy when they dress up on German carnival.

Also, I can clearly see a Pumpkin on that picture Bolvar

Fucking unsocial dipshits are running around the block, ranting and shouting, only half of them dressed up, claiming they DESERVE candy. And someone in our house let them into the hallway! AAARGH!

Halloween is totally fine, in the US or GB or wherever it is a tradition aswell.
But it's NOT a tradition here.

Saint Martin is only a week away. THAT'S a tradition over here! They should build some simple lanterns, learn 2-3 of the traditional songs, go around, sing a verse or two, earn themselves some candy.
For THAT I'll prepare a bowl of candy.
But they are to lazy for that. Last 2 years only a handful of kids came, mostly between age 3 and 6, with their parents.

Honestly, and I say this as someone who's always proud to represent the homeland and diss others: Saint Martin is a terrible holiday. It's like this jumbled together mess of all sorts of traditions that have nothing to do with each other, and don't form a coherent whole in any regard.

For those who don't know Saint Martin: Some saint five hundred years ago ripped his cloak in half, giving half to a beggar. Therefore, kids go around hthe neighbourhood with paper lanterns and sing incoherent songs for candy.

Only if you are a child do you get candy. You have to dress up in a costume and you go door to door and ask all your neighbors for candy. If you are too old they sometimes tell you to go away.

Haha, I meant Sankt Martin.

My dad used to make the best lanterns, when I was in Kindergarten.

Really?
Damn.
Yea, we do the 'Umzge' (=parade like, with a dressed up rider at the front) and bonfires, too.

...and AFTER that, on your way home, you go and ring at the doors of your neighborhood, sing and get candy. As a kid of course.
