I remember when my father talked about his experiences with foreign workers here. The French and the Scots were loud and rude, while Americans and Russians were total bros.

Well they were given the option to leave before via referendum and they choose not to. The US didn't have that option and ended up fighting a war over it. That was also 300 years ago under different circumstances. I want the Scots to be happy and I think the rest of the UK could work something out with them. Cameron went to the EU to try to work out a better deal for the British people but it wasn't enough. Scotland could try to get better concessions than that.

The UK was arguing against about 27 other countries though. Scotland would just be arguing within one. The United Kingdom has been together a lot longer than the American colonies were part of Britain and how long the UK was part of the EU. I don't want them to particularly do anything but I feel like they could work something out better than the UK could with the EU.

Nah, they never interacted. It was the American employees on an oil tanker, and later Russian mercenaries who guarded the ship when it passed by Africa.

Here is a problem : why should have the EU accommodated the Brits ? It is the very root of today's problems, the fact that the EU never put an end to the UK delusion that it is somehow special and fundamentally different from the other Europeans nations.

The Scots want to be part of EU. Not being a part of it is clearly a major game changer. They don't want to be a part of an ever-closer union in the British Isles.

If they want another referendum, that's fine. They have that right. Just so long as they don't keep doing this "Keep having referendums until we get what we want!" nonsense. Frankly, I fully expect the EU to try and pull said nonsense on the UK in about half a year anyway.

2 years is a little short. They should wait until 10 years at least. That way, many voters will be gone and many new will be there. It won't be all the same people and the situation will have evolved enough. But if the EU was that of a game-changer, they should go for it. I just find it weir that they want to be free from the UK only to tie themselves to the EU.

Where is the support for Scotland that you gave the rest of the UK when it wanted to leave the EU?

Just fyi, the Netherlands haven't (offically) called for a referendum. Just one politician who is notoriously against the EU said he wants the Netherlands to follow the UK.
Although I don't follow dutch politics regularly even I know that he wants the Dutch to leave the EU almost once a week or something.

I'm not picking a side on this one but lets at least try to be a little honest about it.

What did I ever say that indicated I don't support Scotland? They are going to have to make a choice between staying with the UK or staying with the EU. I have more faith in negotiations between Scotland and the rest of the UK than what happened between the UK and the EU. We don't know what Scotland would do under this new scenario or how the rest of the UK would try to keep them part of the country.
