After all, even if they weren't aggressive themselves, they probably still had to be large and imposing enough to keep the other, more expansionist and militarily advanced tribes still thinking twice about trying to move in on their territory. |

![]() Were they specifically peaceful, or just not as warmongering and brutish as the other trolls?

![]() I was reading The Last Guardian and I couldn't not think of this
![]() (click to enlarge) What I envisioned was something more close to this depiction ![]() Or at least a creature that's very similar to the felhounds like the vile stalker

![]() That's actually really cool. I doubt it was intentional, but I choose to believe it was.

![]() A friend of mine claims: Orcs are little more than savage dwarves.
Scrutinize this.

![]() ![]() So Medivh used to act as a guard on the Twisting Nether? Or was that Sargeras inside him speaking?

![]() IIRC, standard guardian stuff. The whole purpose of the Council of Tirisfal is to protect the world from the demonic incursions brought about by magic. The Guardian acts as the clean up crew "for the mistakes of these amateurs" and other stuff.

![]() So I got into a discussion (argument) about the allied races. Is it bad lore for the void elves to wield the light, while the lightforged wield the shadow? My friend believes that these two forces are too opposed to allow it from these races. I disagree, citing discipline.

Yet Discipline priests are entirely this by their spec fantasy, they are the edge between Void and light, the balance. Can there be a balance if you are infused with either? Probably not, but maybe not impossible as light and void are still a cycle after all, it would be incredibly hard though. |

![]() So don’t expect void elf holy priests and lightforged Draenei shadow priests?

![]() Sargeras' sword, Gorribal, and Aggramar's sword, Taeshalach, were once the same sword, Gorshalach. The WoD challenge sword looks like a fusion of the two.

![]() So we haven't heard anything about Tol Barad since Cataclysm other than "The Horde victory at Tol Barad" quote from Nazgrim right?

![]() Gorshalasch is RPG only. In Chronicle Gorribal and Taeshalach broke in a duel with each other.
Scepter of Sargeras quest. It turned out one of the demons there had the Eye of Dalaran, so Gul'dan sent people to get it. Warlock player killed them and the demon then took the Eye. |

![]() Actually it's Gorribal that seems to be RPG only. Is it mentioned in any canon source? It would seem that Taeshalach has always been Aggramar's sword, and Gorshalach, Sargeras's.

![]() At the end of Reign of Chaos, I assumed that Ner'zhul's goal was at the very least to achieve independence from the Burning Legion, and that fucking up their plan was at least a side benefit.
Through Frozen Throne I assumed that the Burning Legion would not tolerate the existence of an independent Lich King, either because he was actually a danger to them or just out of principle for his "treason" ( though it is strange they don't extend the same treatment to Illidan ). From that point it would seems that, even if the Lich King was not already intending on getting some payback for what the Legion did to him, he would need to deal with them somehow. But those are just assumptions. Is it stated clearly somewhere, in post Frozen Throne material what the end goal of Ner'zhul was ? Was he going to go on a Frozen Crusade of his own against the Burning Legion once the Scourge had taken over world ? Was he actually intending on conquering the world ? Same goes for "Lich King Arthas". Also, considering the fact that an army of undead actually require not dead things to turn them into undead, was there ever an hint on what was the plan for long term sustainability of the Scourge ? Leaving some settlement or "farm" of living creatures and "reap" them once in a while ? Invading other worlds ? |

![]() Also the fact that the Legion didn't create the Scourge as anything else than a short term weapon against Azeroth.
