I kinda doubt its either personally. It uses a night elf model, sound files and gives a sentinel companion so that rules out high elves.

I doubt Maiev simply because she hates everyone that isn't Kaldorei.

I think the hype is coming from the fact that the quest giver is asking you to look for "high elven weapons," thus its who the person is searching for that could of interest.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but how does it make sense for anything related to high elves to be found on this Draenor? Considering alternate timeline and everything.

I guess what people were saying before about them potentially cutting a raid tier to get the next expansion out quicker was correct. It seems like the intention behind it would be to have annual expansions in a rapid-fire format, so there would not be huge content droughts and they could announce a new expansion at every BlizzCon rather than having unfortunately timed outliers. So, to gauge opinions..

Would you all prefer:

1. 2 year expansion cycle with 3 raid tiers and a ~12 month content drought.
or
2. 1 year expansion cycle with 2 raid tiers and minimal content drought.

I personally would prefer the latter. Quicker expansions is likely better for the game as a whole, and I think that they're free to cut as many raid tiers as they'd like as long as their promise of annual expansions is held up. How I see it is that in 2 years we would get 4 raid tiers in total (2 per expansion), rather than the 3 raid tiers we'd get with the current format.

Of course, all of this hinges on Blizzard's planning and management actually working out as intended..
3. 1.5 year expansion cycle with 3 raid tiers.

One year IMO is too short, both in terms of development time and play time. 3 raid tiers also gives a nice beginning, middle, end feeling to the expansion.

To be fair, over a year of no content is obviously way too long.

But I do welcome stretches of no content to just recharge from the game. I say roughly 6 months from the last raid tier to expansion is fine. If they ever manage to hit that, it would work.

Yeah 6 months, even a bit more, depending on how big the last raid is and how much "single-player" content the last patch brings, before the pre-expansion patch hits, would be more than okay.
I would LOVE if they get that to work, finally. But I have my doubts, just like everyone else. Because we have 4 Expansions that showed us that it didn't work.

Maybe they will show what they have planned for patches at Blizzcon.

Which could mean that a theoretical 6.3 might feature Fahralon and a Micro Tier ala Ruby Sanctum.

I just can't see a theme for a "Mid Tier" Raid in WoD.

Cata had Ragi's return, which was originally planned to be in 4.0, but was pushed back.
MoP had the Thunder King, but that was heavily forshadowed.

If it are only two tier, then so be it. Better than a half assed tier ala Trial of the Crusaders.

As far as i can tell 6.0 perfectly seeds:
- Arakkoa Raid (most likely an Old God)
- The last remnant of the Oger Empire
- The rest of the Warlords
- Knowing Blizzard another faction war raid
- Something with the Pale Orcs
That's just what comes to mind without thinking deeper about it, and of course there's the AU Legion which i think we can all agree they will serve as the last raid this expansion but must not necessarily appear in only that one raid. Technically nothing prevents an AU Legion raid in between. If they actually got off their asses there'd be buttloads of Mid Tier Raid ideas.

-We already have an oger raid with Highmaul.
-High Arakkoa Raid: Old God stuff was Pre-Alpha/alpha stuff and already changed. The Arakkoa storyline is already mostly finished with Skyreach.
-Rest of the Warlords: Kilrogg will most likely a boss in Tanaan Citadel and I don't think this will be a raid. Asuka will 100%ly feature in the End Raid.
Pale Orcs: Yeah, a Gollum Raid....
AU Legion: Will be featured in the End Raid.

I noticed the spirit of Kairozdormu in the database. Have we ever seen a dragon's sprit in Warcraft before? That's the first one, right?

Implying they won't just start selling glorified 'big patches'. once every year.

Siege of Orgrimmar 5.4? Naw, that's now, err... "World of Warcraft: Breath of Y'Shaarj" Which includes 5.3 and 5.4. Pre-order the Deluxe Digital Edition now to get your exclusive Iron Scorpid companion pet!

So Modera, member of the council of 6, previously featured as an Alliance character, is neutral in WOD.

What an unexpected twist.

Varian spends all day sat on his throne dreaming about how much he wished he was a gladiator again and how much better and #savage his life would be if he was Warchief.

Jaina will go back to the neutral-closet again just like after Tides of War because of the Hordies who couldn't grasp why somebody would be mad at the Horde.

Can you blame them? Being Alliance means bowing to Varian as your high king. And Anduin has more authority than you.

Yeah thatís what concerns me too. There doesnít seem to be any seed lore for an intermediary raid, which makes me worried that such a raid is going to be TotC-level filler. Iíd rather have nothing than another of those. Long waits make people quit, but bad raids can ruin guilds. I mentioned it a while back, but I guess I could see a breaker/primal raid in Farahlon with pseudo-Titan themes, but not enough to make it a full Titan raid.

Another concern of mine regarding a 1-year expansion cycle: it would mean releasing the next xpacís beta shortly after the final raid hits live, probably with alpha leaks well before-hand. Itís really going to take the wind out of the sails of the final raid if everyone is already thinking about whatís coming next. The betas could always be shorter, sure, but using Chiltonís 4-month ďbreathingĒ room that only leaves 2 months of testing and hyping.

So anybody think Blizzard might want to turn Karabor into a future raid? Possibly Guldan, although it sounds like he'll show up in Iron Citadel.

The outdoor area would be a good idea for a "wing" with 3-4 bosses, then they can design the interior.

Mannaroth is dead, and apparently KJ and Archi aren't bosses. There's not much nostalgia or plot to turn it into a raid.

Well, in Blizz's own words, they don't really need or care about plot to make a raid.
