It was absolutely not an adaptation in any way, shape or form, but the writers at least showed they read the book (Israeli wall, nuke over Iran, and a scene whose only purpose is demonstrating the zombie virus works differently from the book.), which is more than I was expecting.

I have determined that everyone who's ever told me "Dude, you have a lot of guns. I know whose house I'm going to when the zombies take over!" will be the first to be shot for fear of being infected.

The issue I've long had with many zombie apocalypse stories is that when the zombies swarm en masse and the method of infection is essentially trying to eat the new host, it imposes a built-in point of critical mass, which would quickly begin to self-contain the rate of infection in any highly populated areas.

In other words, the rate of infection would begin to slow to a more readily controllable crawl as soon as any area contained enough zombies that they started bswarming and eating the new victims faster than the bodies could rise as viable zombies.

This is why if you want something done right, you use nanobots.

I was thinking of a zombie apocalypse scenario akin to DC Comics' Blackest Night event, but with historical figures instead of super heroes.

Imagine the old English nobility having a morbid undead dinner in a ruined castle, while their dead knights ravage the country.
Napoleon and Hitler cleansing western europe of life.
Undead Romans re-living their civil wars in modern day Italy.
Genghis Khan and his sons invading China, fighting the modern day soldiers and winning.
America's past deeds coming back to haunt them.

Hiroshima. Nagasaki.
