Dammit Satan! This is why they don’t let you in heaven anymore. Just gotta go stirring the pot, rocking the boat.

There wasn't a point in high elves after WC3 anyway.

I wonder if Vereesa's Hearthstone card is hinting at future developments. Things like tortollans and blood elf golden eyes were first introduced in Hearthstone before being made canon.

I know her eyes are glowing with arcane power here, but pink and purple can look alike, and I wonder if this couldn't be what a "voided high elf" could be somewhat like. Also, Thori'dal is Halduron's weapon in WoW, so I wonder if she won't get it in a future storyline (maybe the Quel'thalas warfront or something).

On another note, void elf tabard depicts an icon that looks kinda like N'Zoth's iconography:

I can't shake the idea that they'll go Wrathgate on us.

They've already recycle the Garrosh Horde civil war schtick so why not Wrathgate.

Considering how little void elves have been developed, there's no other direction hinted for them besides going nuts and doing bad stuff.

I have no doubt that they’ll turn on us, it just seems more likely that it will be an unplanned loss of control as opposed to treason.

May be, but I think Umbric (but not all void elves) being already in service of N'Zoth before Alleria showed up could make the story more organic than "they lost control, but now they got better".

I don't see all the void elves going evil, some will be shocked when the others show their true allegiance, but I think Umbric, because he's the only one with a name, and because of how "perfect" he was presented to bne, WILL be a traitor.

I kinda imagine he being a raid boss with perma-entropic embrace and void wings added to his appearance.

I don't even like velfs and I think making Umbric secretly evil would be a waste. His exchange with Shandris on control of magic was some of Blizz's only good character interaction in this expac.

Crazy idea, but from time to time Lor’themar feels compelled to bring up how Silvermoon is never going to have another king. What if the fabled Eldin Sunstrider were to finally appear....... as a Void Elf.

Not the people who think that this will just lead to more elf-centric narratives/characters at the expense of 'ugly' races.

Just you wait for the new elf race spawned by Lor and Thal. You'll get you half-elves, just not the ones you were expecting.

Can't have an elf-centric narrative when all that's left is secondary characters.

Eh, secondary characters is all that's left for most races.

Nelfs haven't actually lost much of their main CAST though, and even if Belfs have lost Kael, lor'themar has been around long enough to actually get name recognition.

Oh yeah, void elves also get all the current and new blood elf skintones.

So this confirms that the high-/blood-elf divide is political and not biological?

I think Blizz is leaning towards weakening the faction divide.

We have human pirates in Horde

We have light undead that lean Alliance with Calia

And now both flavors of high/blood elf on the factions

That, coupled with the interview on time passage and how they seeded so many plots seeded in BFA, makes me think we're looking at a timeskip

(Admittedly the interview was more about how time moved in shadowlands fir dead folks, to explain why Draka or Kael and others might have more or less accomplished regardless of how long ago they died)

While I am not a believer of the timeskip and abolishment of the factions speculation, the latter would certainly make things easier for Blizzard and its fans.

No more faction war expansions ever again would be a huge boon.

I don't see abolishment

I see... A relaxing of restrictions
